My Daughter is getting married September 10th. We are looking for a song for her father-daughter dance. Any suggestions?
Preferably father singing to the daughter.

We used "In my life" - The Beatles. There were no "butterfly kisses" at my wedding - gag! haha!!

    Heartland's "I loved her first"
It's a beautiful song by dad saying how from the first time in the hospital he loved his daughter and always loves her.

I am getting married soon and my dad picked out the song, "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder. It has a special meaning to the two of us, but I have known others that have used it too! =)

Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle (I think)

There's another song by Brad Paisley i think..its about his daughter being born and him raising her..Country songs are good to dance to...they are slow, and you really hear the meaning..

Something a bit more up-tempo - I Knew the Bride When she used to Rock'n'Roll.

I am not a big Country music fan, but I listened to Heartland's "I loved her first" and OMG could not stop crying. I love it! I will have my daughter listen to it.
    Thanks for all the suggestions.

    What Hurts the Most -
  • I Loved Her First - the first time I heard this song I was pregnant with my daughter at a wedding. I bawled like a baby and said I wanted it played if I had a daughter at her wedding!!

Also there is one by Rascal Flats called "My Wish" (not exactly sure if its "My Wish" or "Your Wish" but there is Wish in it) that several friends of mine used.

I used "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion.

We used the traditional Father Daughter dance and I san You Are My Sunshine to my dad as it was our song from when I was a baby. It had to be in the wedding!

My dad and I did "You've Got a Friend" by James Taylor. You know, "You just call out my name and you know wherever I am, I'll come running, just to see you again". Oh, just gives me chills thinking about it!

My dad adopted me when I was 5 and is the best dad ever! I used Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion. It was perfect for us. My dad and sister used Unforgettable by Nat King Cole with Natalie Cole and it was lovely.

I really like My Wish by Rascall Flats. It really is exactly how parents should want for the kids they have raised.
