Great job!
It does take time, use a few means to track your progress such as,
* Body weight scale ( ones that measure body fat & more are great to invest in)
* Progress pictures ( front, side & back profiles)
* Body measurements ( waist, bust, chest, hips, midway, thighs, upper arm)
* Try on different clothes and see how they fit differently
Remember that if you are exercising, you will be adding muscle tone to your body and muscle weighs more than fat. So if you have a scale that doesn't measure body fat or muscle mass, you may think that nothing is changing.
Also hydrate! hydrate! hydrate!
Drinking the correct amount of water has a direct correlation with the fat your body will hold on to.
A well hydrated & nourished body can function how it is supposed to & remove unhealthy fats, excess water and toxins.
Good luck as you continue on, feel free to add me, I welcome everyone:)
Have you ever been fat?
Yeah many times lol I have 5 children, single pregnancies and have gained 42lbs in each pregnancy. After my last child I was left with 34lbs which I have now lost and my goals now are to actually add weight in terms of muscle mass but remain petite & have curves in the right places .
Thanks for question & friend request

I've been in a really bad binge/restrict cycle lately, coming out of the holidays and additional environmental stress. Well, today, I woke up and said it's going to be a good day, I'm going to eat close to my goal calories, and not look around for chocolate. I'm going to bed under my calorie goal by 60 calories (goal is 1600 for 5'7" 173#s) and enjoyed frozen grapes instead of chocolate17

I got two NSV's within an hour today. I bought new running clothes in anticipation of warmer weather a size too small like a crazy person, because I thought I would shrink into them. Still thought I was a crazy person until today when I put on my usual winter running clothes, looked in the mirror and noticed I was swimming in my shirt. I grabbed one of my new smaller jackets and was out the door.
Last week I chickened out right before a hill in my neighborhood and turned left downhill so I wouldn't have to head back uphill until I was done with my run intervals. Today I was running down that same hill and dreading going back up. The route I'd taken last week hadn't been plowed so I knew it would be miserable and possibly dangerous to head that way. I started thinking about something else and before I knew it I was halfway up the dreaded hill. Made it to the top no problem.33 -
I was able to sit down and get up WITHOUT bracing my arms on my thighs or furniture! It feels so good using muscles that I forgot about20
-
I looked in the mirror and liked what I saw for the first time in a long time. My weight loss (and gain) always seems to show up, very obviously, in my face.21

Lent my new snow pants to my hubby tonight. He texted me from the tobogganing hill that they were too small for him!24
-
Hahaha Hubby says, "tell them about your great news!" I forgot. Heart test in Dec shows no sign of my 3 heart attacks, no heart scaring visible, no prinz metals angina, No enlargement of the heart!! I still have a spasmatic angina, but it is easily treated!! So there is my NSV for the whole year!! YAY! CJ
LOVE THIS!!!2 -
I went back to work on Monday (I'm a teacher) and my target is to use the stationary bike twice a week for 30mins every week. It's not a big target but one I can do. I cycled for 30mins 2 days after work and today I have done an hour!!!!
Have also eaten under my calories for 12/13 days. It's seems only little but it's big for me!28 -

not fitness related, but I marked 1 year since my brain tumor surgery! My latest blood tests don't show any indications of new tumor growth, and I haven't had a seizure since before the surgery!
(and yes- my hair has grown back since)
I'm happy for your good news!
You must have such strength within & that will carry you far.
Best wishes

Before I started going to the gym 3 weeks ago, I was drinking 2-3 cups of coffee per day to get through my work day even though I was sleeping 8-9 hours/night. Now that I've been working out 5x/week, I've found myself craving water instead of coffee and cut my intake to less than 1 cup/day. I've also got the courage to workout with free weights for the first time ever.17

7 months sober, 2 sizes smaller in pants, still have the boobs, and today the dog and I did 1.7 miles in 20 mins (down from 30 just last week). Next is trying to find a sports bra that actually fits the boobs as I have been incredibly unsuccessful in this endeavor37

This summer I was way overflowing 44's. Today, I just tried on 34's and they actually fit.32

I have a few NSV's .
-I did not gain during Christmas. Okay, I know this is technically a scale victory, but I am still happy. And the point of this forum is to focus on what went well, right? And this was one of my mini goals over on the mini goal thread, so yay!
-This last week since being back from Christmas break I have done well. I got back into exercising, I have not drunk any coffee, I have mostly not had chocolate, I did not eat the birthday treats brought in for some co-worker's birthdays.
-I was making something with chocolate chips and I only threw one small handful in my mouth - usually I would have several handfuls or eat the rest of the bag.
-And here is another scale related one (sorry!)... I decided to do my weigh ins on Saturdays and not Fridays because Saturdays are significantly lower and I need all the help I can get.
Last night and tonight I have been binge watching Netflix and not done anything active. So I am hoping that the things I did do well this week will give me momentum to get back into it tomorrow. Thinking about NSV's and my reasons for doing this helps keep me going. Reasons? for health, so my clothes will fit again, and to show my mom she can do it too.14 -

Congratulations on being sober!!!!!!!! Fantastic!6 -
I went to my Sportsman's club today and being one of the few women involved, I got compliments from 5-6 guys about my weight loss as I have not been there regularly in a few months as I am usually going to gym on Saturday mornings. Some were making a big deal about and made me realize how good it feels to have people notice.18

I can take my wedding and engagement ring on and off easily as of this week. I haven't been able to do that since before my fourth daughter was born two years ago.22

Actually, just getting to the gym is an NSV in itself as it was very cold, very windy and snow/ice everywhere this morning at 5am . . . it was not encouraging weather to go into.
can so understand this. i started a new contract last week and same kind of weather/road conditions. i did the first day by transit, but after that i started doing what i've always done, ie bike commuting.
i'm aiming to be in place by 8 am just so i can be free by 4, but going out into sub-freezing air for a 30 min ride with ice still on the ground is not easy at all. the cold's been around long enough to be almost 'normal' but it's sure not making me want to lift much. the muscles take a noticeably longer time to get warm and loosen up, so congrats about getting it done.

Today I was able to jog on the treadmill for more than 5 minutes! Infact I walked for 5 minutes, jogged for 15 minutes and ran for 5 minutes! I was completely suprized I could do this without gasping for air!!30

20,000 steps on my FitBit today!24

Try Tjmax for bras if you are only going to have for a short period of time. They are rather cheap and you may get lucky4 -

When I started this journey in August 2014, my measurements were 41/36/47. Today they are 33/26/38.35

Went back to the gym after 3 week holiday and also tried the rowing machine for the first time19

Yesterday I decided to go for a run since it looked nice out. Got myself all suited up, then wasn't sure if i should wear a fleece over my shirt or not. Checked the temperature. 12 degrees fahrenheit!!! Well I had set a rule for myself a while back that I could run if it's 15 or higher. But heck I was already dressed. So I went on my run! The sun was shining so it really didn't feel too cold. I even took my gloves and hat off halfway through. (yes I run warm but I also live in Vermont so I'm used to it). Did a full 3.1 miles in 45 min. Not bad for a freezing day.35

It was cold. Very cold. And wet. Very wet (rain streaming down). And windy. Very, very windy.
But it was light and the roads were quiet so I went for a 21-mile cycle ride anyway.
I got back cold, wet, tired - it's hard work cycling against the wind; at one point I could have walked faster than I cycled but I was NOT getting off that bike! The wind was so strong that it kept blowing me off course, I am sure that I cycled further than usual due to the deviations from the straight line
I got back to much head-shaking from my family who all believe that I am completely crazy.
Lunch and a nice hot bath sorted out the physical problems.
It was exhilarating. I will never use the weather as an excuse not to exercise again. Unless it's really bad, of course, and then I can just head off to the gym instead.36 -

I love hearing about your cycling adventures. Thanks for sharing them I am just heading out the door in beautiful sunshine for a 60 minute cross country ski. It doesn't require any intestinal fortitude because the snow and sun are calling to me. Maybe that's my nsv

Learning to own my weight loss, and openly talk about it in my new relationship and with family. It gets hard to brush off after 70 lbs lol but I think being able to talk about it will help me keep going and keep it off17

You are awesome! I can't imagine ever doing what you do, but I guess you never know! I intend to dust off my bike in the spring and start doing some gentle rides around the block just to get the hang of it again, since I haven't ridden for several years.5
