Belly button piercing

So I am thinking of getting my belly button pierced and I'm just wondering if during healing time this will effect my exercise? I normally do alot of Jillian Michaels DVDs so some things are where I lie on my stomach, just a bit dubious if a piercing is going to hinder this?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Might be a little sore. You keep a plaster over it for the first 3 weeks or so (changing & cleaning every night) so it won't catch on anything. You might want to keep one over it for exercise for longer than that to avoid pulling it while it's still tender. Took mine several months to feel ok & I left the piercing ring in for nearly a year before changing it out.0

Mine hurt for about a month and I couldn't sleep on my stomach for that time period. You might need to modify your tummy down exercises till it heals. As @VanVanDiane said, keeping the bandaid/plaster on it while you're exercising could help but that first month is definitely a killer.0

I had 4 done at once and really struggled with anything that stretched my stomach, sit ups, Push-ups even were absolutely *kitten*
All I can say is good luck0 -

Of course it will affect that area for awhile!0

Like others mentioned, you will have to modify your stomach exercises because you'll want to be careful not to bump it/irritate the area while it's healing!
Obvious side note, but worth mentioning: be religious about cleaning it after you exercise!0
