gym regiment

Hey guys, wanted to kno if anyone can help me figure out if my regimen good enough for weight loss, plus definition. Well my workout consist of warm-up, hit elliptical for bout 5-10 min, then hit plymetrics 3 sets of 10..an after that hit 2 sets of 10 bend over rows, and 2 sets of 10 triceps, and ab work lifting 50lbs then drop to 25 2 sets of 10..cool off and that's it...BTW this is 3 times a week sun tues Thursday. ..any suggestions?

    It's lacking and unbalanced...

    I would suggest following a structured program.

    It would depend on your goals (as in fitness goals)...

    Programs like Strong Lifts 5x5 are great beginner programs for maximal strength gains (and you will also develop a nice physique) but IMO, they kind of ignore other aspects of fitness.

    I can't tell, but I'm assuming you're female...New Rules of Lifting for women is pretty good though it gets a bit convoluted towards the end of the program...none the less, it's a good read...it's geared more towards beginner training in the weight room with more of an emphasis on general fitness. Brent Contreras' Strong Curves is also a solid program to start with...it focuses on, well...strong curves.

    But really, there's a host of programs out there. They are beneficial in that you will avoid muscular imbalances, overtraining, undertraining, etc. It takes quite a bit of knowledge to program a routine that is efficient, and efficiency is what you want. People spend years spinning their wheels in gyms.
