Water Vs. Crystal Light

I know you're supposed to drink a lot of water when trying to lose weight. If I add a pack of crystal light to my water - does it still count as water intake? I hate water and don't know how to handle this.

Yes, definitely counts. So do coffee and tea. Recent research has shown that the diuretic effect of caffeine is more than offset by the water content in coffee and tea. Once you start adding those in, it's pretty easy to hit 64oz of water per day.5

I've always been curious of this question! I have a really hard time just drinking water. I add my raspberry ice to all my water1
-
What else would it be? Adding flavor to water doesn't make it not a hydrating liquid. Enjoy your crystal light!3
-
No you have drink the water, then eat the contents of the packet of crystal light for it to count as water11
-
Of course!
Think about it. If you drank a bottle of water by itself and ate a Crystal Light packet afterwards, wouldn't you count the water you drank?
Why does it make a difference if they're mixed together? They mix together in your stomach anyway. Your body extracts the water from everything that you consume, even foods. And it all counts.5 -
Shoot, I count any liquid as "water". Without my iced tea, I would never meet my water goals.4

No, it does NOT count as water. Water is used to cleanse your body of toxins & chemicals (clear water). Crystal light has chemicals in it that aren't good for your body, like aspartame.

OP this is absolute nonsense fear-mongering, the link is someone's opinion and has no link to any scientific evidence to back it's claims. Everything you eat whether it be processed or natural has chemicals in it, chemicals are not scary, here's a very well written post by one of the forum users here who is a biochemist: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1308408/why-aspartame-isnt-scary/p1
and I'm also going to leave this here:

Yes, it all counts. Water is in many foods we eat as well as beverages. It all counts towards hydration.0

You're supposed to stay hydrated, regardless of whether or not you're trying to lose weight. Drinking water doesn't have anything to do with losing weight.6 -

OP, ignore this garbage advice - someone forgot that H20 is a chemical! all chemicals are not bad!4 -
Even the water that food contains counts.1
-
You're supposed to drink lots of water if you aren't losing weight too. You're just supposed to drink lots of water. Your body needs water to function.
That said, many things contain water. Juice. Coffee. Soda. Food. Whether it's mixed with other stuff or not, your body sees and uses the water content once it digests.
If your body can figure out the water in a cucumber, it can handle crystal light.1 -

I like using the term "hydroxic acid" and reminding people that it's found in rocket exhaust and is used in industry for cutting metal.4 -
All liquids except alcohol count as water, as does the water in foods. Even things with caffeine count. The slight diuretic effect of the caffeine is not enough to offset the hydrating effect of the water.1

I like how the blog advises squirting real fruit juice into your water for flavor, even though by doing so you have now negated the point about needing only plain, clear water, and also fruits have citric acid which is a chemical. And chemicals that are ingested into your guts are bad.
Also lol at chewing gum while drinking. Gum also has all the same chemical sweeteners as crystal light more or less.
So many contradictions.5 -

How would that work with water having a pH of roughly 7? Dihydrogen monoxide works a treat though.0 -
I would die of dehydration if there were no 5 calorie Orange Crush packets to put in my water.5

It's a correct and accepted name, because of the way hydrogen ions can disassociate and act as an acid. I don't like saying "dihydrogen monoxide" because too many people have heard that term, but hydroxic acid is obscure enough to catch more people out.2 -

Didn't "flushing toxins out" come from Scientology?
My friend used to say we were doing that in the sauna ...
I enjoy the Diet Snapple, and Diet Lemonade varieties.0
