What's your height and weight?1

Why is that a herculean task? It's 25lbs?7

Need more info. Height, weight, current activity, current calories/macros.1

Calorie deficit.
Give MFP your age, height, weight, activity level before exercise. If you are only looking to lose 25 lbs choose no more than .5-1 lb a week as your goal.
Log what you consume as accurately as you can. A digital food scale is helpful.
Log exercise and eat some of the calories you earn from that.2 -
Thank you all..my details are- Age-27, height-165 cms, weight-152 lbs, activity level-sedentary(desk job).
Its a herculean task for me...didn't say for everyone since I have been trying very hard to lose some weight since past three years...unfortunately couldn't achieve my target even for once @TavistockToad :sad:0 -
Tell the tracker your stats, set to lose 0.5 or 1 lb per week, weigh and measure everything you put in your mouth.3

1. You log - you loose. That's a fact.
2. Use a digital scale and be fanatical about weighing your food. One, you will be amazed how much more of certain food you can actually eat and two, very quickly learn how to make better food choices.
3. DON'T guess about food volume or measure cups / spoons etc. Unless you are a chef with years of experience - you simply cannot do it.
4. Give yourself period goals e.g. 5 weeks - do not look at the scale per week. As a woman your body will loose differently during different times of the month. Measure yourself during a period - so you know what to expect for the next period you set. Also gives you a good idea what to do differently or improve on.
5. Measure yourself. It's as rewarding to loose inches as it is pounds!
6. Last but not the least - do not eat less than the calories you need. You will do way more damage than harm. I often find myself a few calories short and will eat a teaspoon of two or healthy nut butter or a the required calories in nuts.
I say the above because I helped my husband loose 100lb and myself 50lb during 2014/2015. In 2016 I took the year off and gained 20lb back. I have now been back on the program since Jan 3rd and am well on track. You can do this!2 -

Go to Goals and enter your information. You will be given a calorie goal.1 -
As of today I have logged in for 140 days and lost 25.6 lbs. You can do it too! I plugged in my stats to lose 1.5 lbs per week and stuck with the calories it gave me. I don't restrict what I eat, I just eat less of it. I think a lot of people think to lose weight you have to be on a "diet", low carb, no sugar etc. Just eat what you want and less of it, and try to move a little more to allow yourself some wiggle room in case you're a little off on your tracking. You got this!!2

This is great advice. Except maybe stick with one pound a week or half a pound a week for you as you're starting off in the only slightly overweight category.

Losing weight safely and sustainably is the best way, which you can totally do with MFP. (Lost over 100 pounds and maintaining for 2.5 years.)3
