Will i ever lose weight?

Ive been on a weightloss journey for 2years now.
I eat plant based high protein low fat
Been high carb low fat to. Did cleanses such as juice cleanses. Detox teas, and many others.
I used to go to the gym 5days a week bit now i go 4 times a week. I do interval trainings with my personal trainer, do gritt, zumba, yoga, abs, and bodypump. And lose from thzt i run and do home exersizes sometimes if i find the time. Im a mom so my scheduele is really busy. And i have a job aswel.
Also found out last august that i have PCOS and that would probably be the case why eventhough with all the effort im doing im not losing a single gram or pound. Im even gaining weight. And getting fatter and bigger each week.
Downloaded mfp again because i knew this helped me before.
But i wonder will i ever lose weight with pcos. And if not i would never give up this lifestyle because i just love working hard and it has become my routine already

Calories? You didnt mention how many calories you've been eating, and do you log everything you eat and drink honestly and accurately using a food scale?20

Not once in that post did you mention simply counting calories.
You can still gain weight if you eat too many calories even on a "plant-based" diet.
Break out the food scale, start weighing and logging everything.10 -

I am actually really glad to hear about your attitude towards exercise.
In spite of the yelling.
The most important thing you said was that you were NOT GIVING UP regardless!
There is a PCOS group around where you will learn a lot more than most of us know about it!
In general it sounds like PCOS people have a lower than expected number of calories out. So this means they end up having to eat slightly less and workout or move slightly more to enjoy the same weight loss as other people without PCOS.
As everyone pointed out, in terms of your weight, how much you exercise, which is great for your health, is important; but less important than how many calories you absorb.
Start logging what you eat. Even if you try to make no changes, most people automatically become "Gooder" when they start to write everything down.
Then cut 20% of the calories you've been eating (25% if obese).
That would be a good start.

While I personally do not follow a Keto diet because I know too many people who failed to stay on it medium term, I do hear that people with PCOS often respond better to a low carb way of eating)6 -

Just wanted to chime in as a fellow woman with PCOS who has lost weight. I was in a similar spot as the OP until a doctor finally prescribed me metformin. Now I track and workout like "normal" non-PCOS MFP users and I lose as expected. If you were just diagnosed, talk to your doctor about treatment options. It IS possible to lose weight with PCOS.

I have pcos and im down 80 pounds in 9 months. Dont try to blame it for 0 loss. Track your calories. nuff said. I didnt go low carb ( i eat very high carb) And im not on medication. Everyones different but its not a good excuse to not lose anything in 2 years9

I have PCOS. With counting calories alone it took 5 months to lose 5 pounds total (progress was still progress), then I went low carb (120 grams or less, which isn't THAT low) and I have lost up to 2 lbs a week, depending on cycle, plateaus, etc. I went from 200 to 155 and feel SO much better! My cycle also went from average 45 days to average 28 days which is amazing for me.
Each person is different so keep yourself flexible, but understand that PCOS can affect your weight loss and how you process food. Try what you can and be patient with it. Good luck!2 -
First, i'd say is to ditch the detox and cleanses. They literally do nothing for you and you're wasting your money by doing them. Second, regardless of your diet, if you are gaining weight, you're eating too many calories. You could be eating the healthiest food in the world and exercise yourself to the moon and it won't mean a thing if you're consuming more calories than you are burning. So if you really want to lose weight it's going to come from having a calorie deficit. Start by setting up your mfp calorie goal and logging everyday consistently and accurately. There are tons of women on these boards with pcos that have been successful in losing weight, and all of them had a calorie deficit.3

I have PCOS. I suggest focusing on strength training, which studies have shown to help women with PCOS lose weight and reduce their risk of other diseases related to PCOS. On non training days do some cardio. 45+ minutes of exercise at least 6 days a week, along with getting enough protein and fat and using a moderate deficit can work.
I do not recommend a huge deficit, which I see so many women with PCOS use. They cut their calories and exercise like maniacs and tank their non-exercise calories because they are exhausted. Then they have to eat even less in order to lose anything and they blame it on the PCOS.6 -
I have a very athletic friend with PCOS who teaches classes at her gym and the YMCA. She is very fit and toned, so PCOS is not a diet death sentence. You just have to keep tweaking your calories until you find a level where you can lose weight.0

I have PCOS. Definitely low carb and low sugar is the way to go. Not no carb no sugar, just low. Learn to balance the carbs and sugar you do consume with adequate protein. While most on here will tell you a calorie is a calorie, it's just not true in a PCOS (insulin resistant) body. White bread and rye bread react differently in our bodies. A candy bar vs 1 tbsp raw honey react differently in our bodies. And definitely log accurately and stay under calorie goal. Best wishes!3

Oops totally forgot to add but yeah i eat 1200 callories a day less even because i dont want to eat to much. And im not starving or anything. But most people tell me that 1200callories are to little for all the workouts i do. But then i dont want to up my cals because i dont want to get even bigger0

How long have you been doing your current exercise regime? Are you doing a January restart after a break? I've literally just started working out last week and I've put on several pounds of water weight as my muscles have had a shock and retain more to heal.0

I'd ask the doctor who diagnosed the PCOS to refer to a dietician who can work with you to develop a diet that works best with your condition.1

Do you weigh and measure your food? If not, get a food scale, pronto. It keeps you honest with your calorie counts. Is your PCOS being treated? Most women with PCOS that is being managed well (Metformin, etc.) are able to lose weight using CICO.0

Even with PCOS there's no way you'd be gaining on 1200 a calories or less. Are you weighing your food? Logging every single day, as accurately as possible?
