A little over 2 years ago I wanted to start lifting weights and change the way my body looks. So I did what I normally do. I opened google and started searching and gathering information. It was overwhelming. There was information that didn't make sense, there was a lot of contradictions and opinions. I was not sure who was trustworthy and who was repeating lies they learned.
After spending some time reading posts and links that have been provided these are a couple of people that jump out as trustworthy:
Lyle McDonald: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/
(this article is probably one that I found most useful: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/muscle-gain/initial-body-fat-and-body-composition-changes.html)
Eric Helmes: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8fhb7upVSZ0q-zK5snR9BA
The Muscle and Strength Training Pyramid & The Muscle and Strength Nutritional Pyramid series are awesome!
Bret Contreras: https://bretcontreras.com/ The glute expert butt (hehe) is knowledge about so much more. He actively posts information on facebook.
Alan Thrall: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRLOLGZl3-QTaJfLmAKgoAw
His how to squat, barbell row, deadlift, bench press, overhead press videos are amazing. He really goes into a lot of detail.
Alan Aragon: https://alanaragon.com/
Greg Nuckols: http://gregnuckols.com/
Brad Schoenfeld: http://www.lookgreatnaked.com/blog/
Layne Norton: https://www.biolayne.com/
Paul Carter: http://lift-run-bang.com
James Kreiger: www.weightology.net
Martin Katan: https://science.vu.nl/en/index.aspx
Jaap Seidell:http://www.emgo.nl/team/228/jaapseidell/personal-information/
Mike Israetel: https://notehub.org/6cvvk
Mark Bell https://www.youtube.com/user/supertraining06
Silent Mike : https://www.youtube.com/user/SilentMike95
Mike Robertson: http://robertsontrainingsystems.com/
Eric Cressey:http://ericcressey.com/
Tony Gentilcore: http://tonygentilcore.com/
Dean Somerset: http://deansomerset.com/
Joe DeFranco: https://www.defrancostraining.com/
Jim Smith: https://dieselsc.com/about/
Jeff Nippard: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC68TLK0mAEzUyHx5x5k-S1Q
Jeff Cavaliere: https://www.youtube.com/user/JDCav24/featured
Dr John Rusin:https://drjohnrusin.com/
Brad Dieter: http://sciencedrivennutrition.com/
MFP Posters: Psulemon & Sidesteel are active posters who often provide research links to back up what they post.
Do you have anyone else to add? Do you agree or disagree with me?

I agree with that list, but I'd also add Mike Israetel, Greg Nuckols and Layne Norton.6

Paul Carter. http://lift-run-bang.com
Guy's been at it for a lot of years, and is one of the few writers who actually has enough sense to combine science with real world training/competition experience. Most lean way too far in one direction or the other.
Other than that, I'd say you pretty much nailed it from the start with Lyle and Alan.3 -
Jordan Peters aka TrainedbyJP on social media.
Chest Rockwell aka mrstackingplates on instagram.
Both talk about the main THREE elements of bodybuilding, food, training aaaaaaaand that other part we're not allowed to talk about on here...something Liar Norton and the like won't tell you about.

Nice.
If you want a person that brings together good research, then mike matthews is solid. He pretty much takes most of the research from the people already stated.4 -

Great list of names so far. I learn a lot watching Jeff Cavaliere's Youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/JDCav24).
He is a physical trainer by trade, so he ends up providing scientific explanations and often uses a skeleton to show you how the lift is working, or how a particular lift will screw up your shoulder. It is a lot of free content, but he is of course selling his workout programs.
