I started swimming about 8 months ago and since than I have really improved lap wise ( I swim about 45-50 laps in under 50 minutes) but I have gained ten pounds since I started!
I am so hungry after I finish.
any advice?

Been there.
Just fit the food into your daily intake goals. Allocate some of your daily calories to your after-swim snack/meal. For me, something with fat or protein, plus carbs, would satisfy. It helps to think it through ahead of time so your hungry brain isn't the one making the decision.0 -
o man, I too am STARVING after I swim. Much more so then if I do cardio. Try eating a protein (cheese, hard boiled egg, etc) and a fruit right afterwards and a big bowl of veggies to fill up.1

there is actually science behind why you are a hungry after swimming (or at least how it was explained to me) - because the pool temp is cooler than your body temp (normally 86ish degrees) - your body expends more energy trying to stay warm - thus leading to post swim hanger1

I am a swimmer also. I think it usually helps to have low fat yogurt or some other high quality protein and a hot low calorie beverage soon after my swim. It doesn't take much to get the hunger to subside. I have found that I can't eat back many of those swimming calories if I am trying to loose weight. Good luck finding what works for you.1

If my pool was 86 degrees I would pass out before I finished my warmup!
