Hey! I have seen several discussion boards seeking Christian friends, so I figured what the hell?! I was raised as a conservative Christian, (homeschooled to boot!) but I am now a liberal atheist. I am also trying to lose over 100lbs. I would love to find some like minded friends on here who are not thanking god for their victories or praying to Jesus for motivation, etc, but rather people who celebrate their victories as their own! Send me a friend request and a msg letting me know who you are, if you're interested.

I'm also an atheist (born and raised, and unashamed, so I'll respond publicly).
Different strokes for different folks.
Happy to be friended!3 -

Atheist. Stopped believing in any god at about the same time I stopped believing in Santa.8

Atheist, probably about a 3.5 - 4 (some might get the number)
I believe in people being kind and having decent morals without having them needing to be under the threat of punishment or just because some book says so6 -
Definitely not a believer in organized religion. I really don't believe in God either. So that makes me an Atheist.
I always kind of laugh (in a sad way) when someone tries to convince me God exists by saying "it says so in the Bible". By that logic, I guess Spider-man exists and so does Harry Potter. I believe that if you live a good life and be kind and considerate to others that's the best you can do.5 -

As an aside, I homeschooled my kids for a while because the Christian students and teachers at the public schools where I lived didn't make my kids feel welcome, accepted, or even safe. So, technically, I homeschooled for religious reasons too. :-/

Another agnostic here.2

Secular humanist here.
Most of my friends are Christians, with a few atheists and agnostics.
Rarely will I delve into religion, nor politics unless I'm with like-minded folks.
Different strokes for different folks. I'm a very tolerant person, and as long as someone isn't pushing their agenda on me or others- that's cool.6 -
Agnostic humanist!3

Atheist here. Raised agnostic, investigated religion, just can't get my head around it and atheist now. I am very very comfortable in calling myself that too.5

@midwesterner85 thank you for sharing! I had no idea!1

@TmacMMM that's awesome! I think homeschooling can be fantastic! My parents really sheltered us and did not want us to learn about evolution, all our books (even math) were from "a Christian perspective". But if I have kids I would absolutely consider homeschooling, just without all the indoctrination! Lol!0
