I'm 5'1 and 22 The heaviest was 125 ish and I'm down to 113 and still pushing. When you're already such a small person you won't see such dramatic fast results. Being funsized means having to be extra patient when it comes to losing weight!! But it's definitely worth it!!15 -
I am 5ft even I didn't weigh myself much back in 2012 but I believe I was 210ish pounds I currently weigh 163.8 and in that Christmas photo I weighed 172.4 ( I weigh in daily)
I wish I would of started being serious about counting calories years ago!
Time for me to take some photos!12 -
Thanks so much ladies. I just need more ideas on how to lose weight. I keep under calories for the day and do some sort of cardio each day for 20 to 30 min.3

I started being serious about counting calories on Nov 1st 2016 I was 181.6lbs so to date I've lost 17.8lbs the only thing I do is just count calories. I don't work out at all I do have a fitbit that is synced to myfitnesspal and I use those extra calories as a buffer incase we go out to eat. I also started weighing in daily using the happy scale app when I weighed in once a month or week I felt like I had more "cheat" days because I knew weigh in day wasn't until days away. The most liberating thing I have realized with my weight loss is that I can still eat all the food I love just portion control. counting calories is tedious work but the results are so worth it!!!7 -

No way if that is naturally what your body is and your comfortable there then that's where your body should be. See I put on all this extra weight (25lbs total After being the same weight and body type my whole life) 5 yrs ago when I was started on life saving medication that I have to take the rest of my life daily. The issue is it makes me sleep eat and binge eat all kinds of crap i never ate b4 in my life lol and the amounts at once omg!!!! Any how Its causing me back issues and other issues with my legs holding all this extra weight my tiny body frame is not equipped to hold to begin with. So Im fighting back and right now trying to bust the sleep eating (Which btw Im completely unaware Im doing except for finding all the wrappers, crumbs and trash the next morning ) How embarrassing btw! and all the Binge eating of these crazy junk foods and not eating any meals because im always filling up on junk food. In the first 3 week (As a whole) I already lost just over 3 lbs as of this morning, although I think now that Ive figured out some mistakes I was making and tweaked a few things as of a few days ago I may start seeing faster results that are same btw! My biggest accomplishment so far though has to be the fact that my mom gave me only pepsi my whole life and I only drank that into my adult age of 33 right now but 3 weeks ago I started to detox of the Pepsi and drink water for the 1st time EVER YES EVER in my life and now Im done with Pepsi except for a occasional 3 ounces if Migraine refuses to leave and Im up to 5 OUNCES OF WATER A DAY AND GOING!!!!0 -
I am 5'1". I am only at the very start of my weight loss so I have no motivational pictures to share, but I will be following this thread closely and looking forward to the day I can contribute. I am currently 64.4kg (143lb) and in the grand scheme of things I only need to lose 10lb to reach a healthy BMI, but when you have a small frame every additional ounce shows. Good luck fellow short people!3

32 y/o and 5'1" here! For the first time in my adult life I feel steady and stable and healthy at a happy weight of 105-107

How are you ladies doing it? You all look great! I am 5'1" and 129 and struggle to get any weight off. I've been eating clean the last 3 weeks but I struggle with all of the information on MFP when it comes to sticking to the prescribed 1200 calories or eating more. I also workout 5-6 days a week for around 55 minutes each day plus walk most days.0

I struggle to lose and maintain due to my height as well. The only thing that comes easy is gaining!2

Well, I'm a runner and I run every day and lift weights 3 days a week. So I burn a lot of calories daily. I also don't put any sort of food restrictions on me, like only veg, "clean" eating, paleo, etc. I eat what I like and what satisfies me, but pretty much stick to the same foods 5-6 days a week, staying at or a bit under 1800 calories, and I always give myself Saturday's as my play day. My husband and I get to go do fun stuff and eat a yummy meal(s) out on the town. This has been working really well for me.3 -

You're probably not eating enough if you're working out that much. Do you log your exercise and eat back those calories?0 -

You also have to remember that you are already in a healthy BMI for your height so any weight loss is going to be slower and take time. I would definitely eat more than 1200 for as much as you are working out.0 -
I am 5' 1.5" and struggling to lose, the lowest number I saw on the scale was 134.4 lbs August 2016 and since then I am up and down ranging 135-140. I am starving if I only eat 1200 to 14001

No, I will be perfectly honest that I do not eat back my calories out of fear that I'll gain which I know is ridiculous as much as I exercise. I have to get out of that mindset.1 -
This is a math game, so weigh and measure everything if you aren't already.
I'm 5' 1/2", F, 46, and lost over 100 lbs. (About 10 more to go.)
I didn't lose at 1200. The scale moves down for me when I'm around 1000-1100. People talk about going under 1200 calories as if you will implode or die -- C'mon, I'm little. You're little. Getting used to eating less takes a bit, but it becomes / feels normal if you make the right choices. If you lose at 1200, great, but you may have to experiment a bit. If you're hungry, you might have to experiment with food choices, too. For example, if I eat an egg and bacon for breakfast (200 calories) I am OK for hours -- usually until lunch. The same # of calories of oatmeal has me starving for the rest of the day.
MFP overestimates calories burned from exercise, and calories burned on exercise at a gym or on a machine are also off. In order to know the accurate #, you need a tracker, heart rate monitor, etc.
Finally, there are myths about not eating enough = starvation mode = no weight loss. This is completely crazy -- the body does not produce fat out of nothing.

I posted the below in September 2016 in another shortie thread. Sorry if some have seen it before and about the size of the pics. It motivates me to remember how far I've come. I've bolded my CW and included a few new pics as of 1.1.17. All other info remains the same:
Hi everyone! Fellow shortie here 5'1".
SW 192-195 lbs
CW 134 lbs Revised CW130 lbs
GW 125 (maybe, it varies)
Before 2013, I never really worked out consistently and my eating was atrocious. My diet has evolved over the years through trial and error and think I have finally found my "thing". I eat HFLC. It's not for everyone but clicks with me.
As far as exercise: Currently, I do free weights with SL 5x5 and a little cardio mixed in (very little). I began with mostly cardio when I started my journey years ago and only began implementing heavy lifting faithfully in March 2016. The changes to my body have been more than I ever thought possible!
The below picture is around 195lbs in 2013:
The below are from September 2016 134lbs:
January 2017 at 130lbs:
It's taken a long time to get to a place I'm comfortable with myself. I'm okay to stay here. I no longer go by a specific weight as a motivator and have slowly reduced weighing myself to once or twice per week. I still log my food and exercise daily.
Good luck all!
Eta: take lots of progress pics! The scale may not move but the pics will show the difference.9 -
Hey ladies! I'm not quite as short at 5'3" but I wanted to add that most average height/average build people don't understand the difference being fun sized makes. It's not just weight its composition and sometimes less waist definition and less leg length makes a small person uncomfortable and feel bigger. The general low end healthy weight is 100 lbs for 5ft tall and for every inch over 5 feet you add 5 lbs. So 115 is probably my lowest at 5'3". That seems crazy to someone taller but if you look up celebrity stats average for people like Michelle Rodriquez or Sophia Bush is 5'5" and 125lbs which fits that model perfectly and most of those ladies look good! Not to skinny but plenty of slim waist and curves!
For reference I started
SW 175lbs
CW 130lbs maintaining over a year!
GW somewhere around 120 but I'm super happy at 130! At 140 I start feeling pudgy, lol.
Good luck to everyone!1 -
I don't have any "befores" but you can see some "afters" in my profile. I started around 150lb, size 10. I am now a 0-2.0
-
While I am at 5'3", I was at 144 lbs at one point and got as far down as 130 and stayed there for a while and couldn't get much lower with the exercising that I was doing and what I was eating while tracking calories. After being at that weight for so long, I changed what I ate to be mostly whole foods, so whole grain toast or pasta, fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats etc. I stay away from processed foods most of the time. I do still have a dark chocolate square on a nightly basis to take care of my chocolate craving. I generally do not drink alcohol unless it is a social occasion. By eating in this way I was able to lose that extra 10 pounds. I don't feel that I am missing anything from a food perspective. Now I am at 120 lbs plus or minus a couple of pounds on a consistent basis and am pretty happy with that. I've been maintaining since February with my highest since then being about 124 lbs around the holidays. Imbibed in more processed foods during this time.
Hope you are able to find what works for your! Good luck!1 -
Thank you ladies for sharing your stories! Hopefully one day I will be back to post my own.

(On my feet from 9-3 but only about 2500 steps)
Highest Weight: 155 maintained for 3 years after birth of 2nd
Start Weight: 140
Current Weight: 134.4
Goal is 5# loss per month
UGW: 105
Seriously I was 155 the day before giving birth and didn't even loose 6 pounds when I had her which is what she weighed 0.o1 -
I'm 5'0 tall and the first pic I was around 170ish and the second pic I'm around 130ish. I gained a few pounds since the second pic and I'm back on here trying to lose them and then some more. I've been going up and down many years but 170ish was my all time highest. This time around I would like to reach my initial goal weight and hopefully lose more after that too.5
