Favourite Anime? Good Anime for toddler?

DBZ always works, Ronin Warriors could work too, it was cheesy but I loved every second of it.1

There are a lot of amazing anime...but one for a four-year-old is a little different. I would recommend maybe Shaman King or Bleach. Also Tiger & Bunny if you have access to it. It's really good, and of the Superhero genre.
Most anime has some accidental boob touching or a lecherous character, but if you ignore that Hunter X Hunter and Magi might be a good choice.
Fairy Tail DOES suck.1 -
For a toddler, go with pokemon.3

How about Card Captor Sakura, Avatar, Kodomo no Omocha? Pretty sure those are PG.1

Toddler Age? Studio Ghibli movies, Card Captor Sakura, Miraculous Ladybug, Kaleido Star, Avatar, Sailor Moon, Digimon, Pokemon, .Hack, etc.
I got my two nieces hooked on Naruto and Inuyasha. I don't think their mother--my sister--ever forgave me for that. Last year the smallest one begged for an Inuyasha costume and refused to answer to any name but "Inuyasha" for weeks. I bought her a toy sword (Styrofoam) for Christmas and she's been alternating between killing people and bringing them back to life ever since, haha.
As for my personal favorites? I'm a sports anime fiend. I definitely recommend introducing your kid to sports anime if you can find any in dub (I wouldn't know as I generally prefer sub) because they teach a lot of really important life lessons.2 -
Wow... most of these toddler anime recommendations are horrendous, lol. Try Card Captor Sakura, Ponyo or any other Studio Ghibli film. Wolf Children the movie. Chi's Sweet Home, Polar Bear Cafe and Nyanpire!1

There aren't very many anime I can recommend that are toddler-friendly, but the best one that fits that stipulation I can think of is Naruto if you're looking for ongoing series. If you're looking for individual movies, I would recommend anything by Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki (Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke). If you want something that has a deep story you can enjoy but cool visuals for him, I can highly recommend anything with the word "Macross" in the title or various Gundam shows.
EDIT: Essentially what we are going for here is a genre of anime called "Shounen" anime (which literally means anime for boys). Examples of which include Bleach, Hunter X Hunter, One Piece, Naruto, and Dragonball Z. Fairy Tail is another example but the fanservice is too much for toddler-appropriate IMO. Be warned, these shows drag on. And on. And on. And on. As in many of them are up to 600+ episodes. For something along those lines that concludes within a season or two. Blue Exorcist is among the BEST I've seen.1 -
some awesome recommendations here, thanks everyone. We've flown through the ghibli films but they are a must have. Dont think he's ready for grave of the fireflies though0

Not necessarily? There are anime of other demographics that OP's son might 1) enjoy and 2) learn valuable lessons from.1 -
flying through shippuden

just realised we only have a few more episodes left of the dub0

I would think Hunter X Hunter would be wildly inappropriate for a toddler. There's literally a grown man clown that wants to bone a 12 year old. Lots of blood too if violence matters. I just started watching it and I think it's a great show but I wouldn't have a kid watch it for the mentioned bits. I'd stick with Pokemon.1

we are about 300 episodes into pokemon so fancied a break from it. Think we will start one piece next, should keep us busy for a year or so haha0
-
All I'll say is Inuyasha is the best, go watch it.1

how old is your son? I loved card captor sakura when I was young. And I've been watching one piece on and off for years. Been watching it since I was really small lol.
You should also try Absolute Boy. It's like a slice of life but with fantasy mixed in.
I second Hamtaro too!
Prince Mackaroo is one too.
Dog of flanders anime gave me the feels. You're probably familiar with the story line
Hikaru no Go
Sugar: a little snow fairy (super adorable)
Kirby
The snow queen
Make way for noddy (it's more like a cartoon, but still very good).
Hetalia (it's 5 minutes per episode. It's very funny. You'll have to look it up since I don't know how to explain it but basically, countries as turned into characters whose personalities are based on cultural stereotypes.)
That's all I can think of that's appropriate for your son to watch. Some of them are old, but still good nonetheless
Recommendations for you:
Ruruoni kenshin (blood. Lots of blood)
Gintama (seriously hilarious, but has a mix of feels too. The first few episodes may be a bit weird but I love it. It's my favorite anime)
The daily lives of highschool boys (the creator was an assistant of the creator of Gintama. Your son can watch this too)
Saiyuki (there are numerous series on this one)
Cowboy bebop (love this one. There's a spaceship, a cyborg, a girl who was asleep for 50(?) years, and the main character. I think this is one of the classic animes)
Samurai champloo (There's blood and hip hop? I don't know how to explain it lol. By the same creator of cowboy bebop)
Yuyu hakusho (same creator as hunterxhunter)
Akatsuki no Yona (if you don't mind romance.the manga i still ongoing, but it has 24anime episodes.)
Assassination classroom (absolutely love this one)
I mainly watched them with japanese audio and english sub, but I'm pretty sure they have english dubs (i know saiyuki and hetalia has one for sure). I don't really know what genre you prefer but I avoided including anime with romance unless the plot line is very good).

Avatar the last airbender!! All 3 seasons! My teens and I have watched it 100's of times and still go back to it! My daughter is anime crazed. I've only seen a few but they wouldn't interest a toddler like avatar or Pokémon would. And some are kinda inappropriate like showing undies and hinting at sexual content. My 15 and 18 yo are banned from those. Not that I have to enforce that. Too much boring romance and not enough gore.1
