Fast Metabolism Diet

I have not been on here for a while and boy have the people changed. Wow. Is this community suppose to support or beat you up for giving your opinion? I am doing the fast metabolism diet because I'm awful at trying to plan meals and figure out what to eat. The Don't list is crap...dairy is not needed and neither is processed sugar, coffee, soda..etc.
I'm going to try it cause it's easy and basic and it's a plan. Its not going to kill me to eat how it prescribes compared to the crap diet I had before. I quit sugar, coffee, soda and feel a lot better. I hope people don't quit any attempt to eat better because of bullying and diet snobbery on this site. Do what's good for you and if it works great...not everyone is built the same.
I hope to meet some nice people who are doing the Fast Metabolism Diet and are enjoying their journey and it's working for them.
I'm on my second week, Phase 1

Of anyone wants to friend up and compare menus or just get some ideas or share their experience, I would like to hear from you.

I was looking for information and I found many places where people were judging and attacking OP for what they said or what diet they chose to follow. Telling the OP what they should be doing.

I have not been on here for a while and I don't remember reading such rude comments on the past.

And Thanks! I need all the luck I can get!

Perhaps your attitude is a bit negative, which it really doesn't have to be =(. We're a community about helping and supporting people and so far over the past 5 years i've been here. It's always been that way. If someone attacked you or insulted you in a way which is against the rules you should report it and let the awesome staff on this site take care of it.

Yes this is an open online forum and people don't have to agree with you and people are free to point out the flaws in a persons diet. They're also free to post research documents to support their claims. If it upsets you that much, why make a post about it? Why not just ignore them and do what you enjoy doing?

As the other person has said, if it's not going to kill you and it's working for you, and you enjoy doing it, then do it. I've been told that my diet soda is killing me and will prevent me from losing weight, on here by at least 4-5 people. I'm not going to make a rant about it because I understand I can't please everyone. I also think it's against the rules to post a rant.

I don't think people just comment to be rude, they usually want to help and you might see people not agreeing with you as rude but honestly is better that people try to be honest and help rather than lie to make you feel better. If someone honestly thinks a person is about to do a silly diet, there's no reason why they shouldn't say why on a fitness forum.

Perhaps you need to change your perspective and be thankful they've put time in to give advice but choose if it's useful to your needs or if it isn't.

As for the "Fast Metabolism Diet" I've heard of this before but i think there are a few variations. If it's the one Dr.Oz mentioned on his show ( https://dailyhealthpost.com/the-fast-metabolism-diet-fad-crash-diet-or-long-term-lifestyle-change/ ), where you cut out caffeine, alcohol, dairy, soy, wheat, corn, or refined sugar and eat less than 700calories, I'd be a little weary about it. Simple because he's a quack =( and eating under 700calories is way too low for any human to be eating without medical supervision.

If it's not that diet, and it promotes healthy eating and you're happy with it. I don't see why it would be a problem. Enjoy the journey =) All the best.

OP - I don't know a thing about this diet but I have certainly noticed a trend towards hostile and patronising replies to less frequent posters or new posters asking questions on this site, not to mention if any of those posts question or contradict or even enquire about common attitudes within this online community.

I have no comment on your diet, but I would like you to know you are not the only person to be embarrassed by the 'groups attacks' and attempt to belittle replies that seem to be common here.

I have used this app on and off since 2012 and although I haven't frequented these forums I have used many other online forums where - even allowing for misinterpretation of inferred tone through written language - by comparison the general attitude on in this 'community' is quite poor.

Don't get me wrong, there are lovely genuine, intelligent people here (including all the great people on my friends list) but there is a distinct undercurrent of nastiness.

I want you to know you are not the only one to observe it.

Nothing wrong with cutting out whatever helps you to keep your calorie deficit in line if it works for you, but the name "fast metabolism diet" is a lie. There's nothing wrong with people being told the truth. Unless you're telling someone else's kid that Santa isn't real. That will not go over well.

    Santa isn't real? But...but...

Is he? I have no idea. I figure I'm to old and salty for him to bother with.

You might see a lot of backlash against that diet because its basic premise is pretty much a blatant lie... there's no diet that actually increases your metabolism or gives you a fast metabolism- it works because of a caloric deficit (just like every other diet ever).

But to be honest I did learn to meal plan years ago by going on a similarly preposterous diet - the 6 week body makeover diet. I liked the meal frequency and portion sizes too so I follow a similar eating pattern now. It has a ridiculous premise (that you can have a completely new body and achieve your weight loss goals in just 6 weeks- ha!!)... but hey, I still was able to take away something valuable and useful from it that worked well for me.

So as long as your eyes are open going into it knowing that there's no quick fix, that the diet may need to be adjusted to meet your needs, that it has a false premise, and that it is not necessary to follow it exactly because you know that the only real thing that is needed is a caloric deficit... then it's probably fine to try it out in order to help you learn to meal plan.

BTW You may want to try pre-logging your day into myfitnesspal - it's very useful to help you make sure ahead of time that you will meet your calorie and macronutrient goals. Much better than just winging it or even following a specific diet.

Excuse me--you have no "comment on your diet", but you agree there is negativity? What does that tell us? How does it help to get rid of the so-called negativity?
