Yes I do ParkRun most Saturdays, there's two that are fairly close to me so I usually alternate for a change of scenery! I have only recently started doing them, I'd heard about them a long time ago but never really got around to doing it, I'll be doing my 10th one this Saturday!

@Bluepegasus well done that's awesome! Where abouts are you based? I've only done the one so far but looking to do at least a 2 a month, I just always seem to have too many Friday night plans!

I'm a huge fan of park run. I seem to volunteer more than I take part these days due to family commitments. I'm trying to get my boys to the stage where they can run it with me. It's such a wonderful initiative. My local one is Knocknacarra, Galway, Ireland.
For anyone who doesn't know about parkrun see www.parkrun.com for info and your nearest course.

I love parkrun! I have just done my 82nd, and hoping to join the 100 club before the summer. I think it is great how welcoming it is and amazingly well coordinated. I recommend it to anyone who runs, or wants to run

Park run is excellent and so friendly and welcoming to anyone no matter what your ability. I would recommend it to everyone and a great way to start out if your looking at running. Junior parkrun for the kids is also a great event.

Thank you! My home ParkRun is Ashton Court in Bristol, but also do the Burnham and Highbridge ParkRun.

I haven't really taken in many ParkRuns, however I'm going to start attending more. There's one like 10mins from my house but I don't really like the course (South Shields). But there's one at Gateshead which I ran last week for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it so will be going there as often as I can

Other than that, I regularly run and would love to have more running friends on here who I can share success with and motivate.

I'm from the US but visit Glasgow every couple of years, so I'm familiar with parkruns. I haven't been able to join in on one yet during my trips, but I'm making a point of it next year. Maybe I'll suggest it to my own local recreation department as something our town could adopt. It's brilliant.

I have never done South Shields or Gateshead, but I am regular at Newcastle and Rising Sun. Might try a spot of tourism and go to Gateshead - but it is a tad hilly!

I've not ran Newcastle ParkRun but took part in MoRun last two years. I've never tried Rising Sun but heard it's a fast course. I enjoyed Gateshead and it is a tad hilly, but you should definitely try it out :)

I live in Vic and started parkrun back in 2014. Have done 11 different courses- Albert Park, Studley, Westerfolds, Chelsea BC, Jells, Diamond Creek and Mullum Mullum all in Vic. Burley Griffin in ACT, Kirra and Surfers Paradise in Qld and East Coast in Singapore. Plus freedom runs at Albury parkrun, Varsity Lakes and Balyang Sanctuary. Launceston parkrun is next on my list and hope to do more parkrun adventuring throughout Australia this year.

Agreed! I usually do Durham or Riverside - did Gateshead once (the hill on repeat argh! !!). Also done Falkirk (lovely but hilly), Portrush (gorgeous along the beach so sandy) and Skipton (lovely but hilly lol) .

Not been back due to other commitments but want to do a few more

I ran it xmas eve too, I was wearing my xmas leggings to get into the mood! Yes, it's a little bit on the hilly side! The Burnham one is nice and flat which is nice when I don't feel like running up a giant hill!

On weekends I either do a long run ( more than 10 miles) or a obstacle run through a park ( pull-ups on swing set, jump picnic tables, rock climbing, etc)

There's one near me and I've been putting off going to it. All your lovely positive posts are telling me to stop procrastinating and just do it!

Parkrun is great fun, whether you're a beginner or more experienced. I go regularly with my dog, there are a couple near us that are mostly trails so suited for dogs but I fancy doing a bit of PR tourism this year so I might check out some others that are within an hour of me. Really hoping to get my 50 t shirt this year!

I work Saturdays or I would love to do them.

I run the Riverside route at Chester-le-street on a regular basis as a 5k or 10k route but it is night times or Sundays mainly.

There is an option to log your 5k times on the Parkrun website under freedom runs. It's handy if you run a full Parkrun route at other times (not sat am). Doesn't count towards your tshirts but nice to see progress over time etc.

Ive been on and off for years. Went back in new year but a prev foot injury put a stop to that. 2nd one today since then. Rubbish times 36 mins compared to my husband and kids around 22mins. I find it really hard though. Luckily ours is around a nice lake and National Heritage house.

Parkrun is amazing! I am lucky to have one in my city just a short drive from home. It has really helped me connect with local runners and my times are improving each week.

Love a parkrun. It’s a great thing to visit as well when travelling! They are always friendly events. I’m hoping for my 100 early in 2021 if not by the end of 2020. I’m in the high 60s now

I normally have bootcamp on a Saturday morning, but whenever it's not on and I dont have a race on the Sunday I do go parkrun. Yesterday was my 9th parkrun in 3 years and first since February so you can guess how rare it is.

Went to a different one from normal, one that is trail rather than on tarmac paths, and hilly too. Loved it, and smashed it. Granted it was a fairly small field but I came in as 19th lady and 4th in age category.
