What foods do you always purchase? What foods do you buy for snacks? Trying to gather some ideas over here.

Silk Light Vanilla Almond Milk, Thomas Light English Muffins, Eggland's Best Eggs (Large), American Cheese slices, turkey sausage or turkey sausage patties, bran cereal, lots of chicken, lean beef, lean cuts of pork, light dressings, frozen vegetables, fresh vegetables (lots of cauliflower, potatoes, sweet potatoes). As far as snacks, I generally go for Blue Bunny Sweet Freedom Ice Cream, it's low cal, has less sugar, and lots of fiber. I also buy dark chocolate bars to chop up and sprinkle on my ice cream. Occasionally I'll buy Avacados to make dip, then buy whole grain tostitos chips to dip with but that's a rare occasion, we try not to keep too much junk food in the house. Danon Fit and Active Light Greek Yogurt is also a good snack.. bananas, other fruits.5

I frequently buy onions, garlic, shredded cabbage, hot sauce, plant milk (either coconut or almond), canned tomatoes, canned beans, dark chocolate, raw cashews, chili paste, jalapeno peppers, tofu, and potatoes.0

I always have eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, potatoes, cheese, green onions, sweet potatoes, beef, pork and chicken, lots of condiments like hoisin sauce and mustards, beans of all type, Special K cracker chips (8 boxes in different flavours in the cupboard right now), popcorn, milk, diet ocean spray cranberry juice (10 calories a cup) - I like to have choices, and with this stuff around, I can usually pull together any meal that takes my fancy on the spur of the moment, or make any recipe that catches my eye.2

The things I will buy the most frequently are:
Frozen strawberries+bananas, eggs, cacao powder or 90% chocolate, reduced sugar almond milk, strained soy yogurt, sliced chicken breast, baby leaf salad, tomatoes on the vine, porridge, venison sausage (pretty low in fat and high in iron!), sweet potatoes, lean mince and lean pork chops, toasted chopped almonds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, hot sauce, mustard, smoked salmon!1 -
Jif Creamy, skim milk, 2% cheese singles, yogurt, chicken breasts, eggs, butter (margarine\Brummel&Brown\real - I use it all, frequently), saltines, bagged Italian salad, parm cheese, sunflower seeds, Ken's FF dressing, Oatfit instant oatmeal, apples....gosh too much to list!1

I always buy what I need - or do my best to do that, and not fall for all of my whims. That means I'm not deliberately buying snack type foods that I have trouble moderating when I get home.
I usually shop twice a week and then I'll have three categories to fill for the next three or four days - dinner - fresh fruit - raw vegetables; and a fourth category for staples I'm low on. Exactly what I'm buying, varies with what's on my meal plan and what's in season.
An assortment of my favorite fruit: Apples, pears, pomelo, pomegranate, litchi, plums/pluots, melon, pineapple, mango, grapes, tangerines.
Vegetables I eat raw: Cucumber, carrots, sugar snap peas, cauliflower, broccoli, beets, rutabaga.
Dinner ingredients will mainly be perishable or non-staple vegetables: Onion, peppers, mushrooms, celery, sweet potato, artichoke, asparagus, squash, parsley, parsnips, corn, lettuce, kale.
Staples are divided into fridge, freezer and pantry.
For fridge: Milk, sandwich spreads (cheese, fish, meat), butter, mayo, pickles, chili, garlic, shallots, potatoes.
Freezer: Meat (chicken, pork, beef, lamb), fish, berries, vegetables, sliced bread, bananas. I portion before I freeze unless single frozen.
Pantry: Grains (oatmeal, polenta, wheat flour, semolina, rice, barley, pasta, millet etc), canned (beans, tuna, fruit, jam, tomatoes etc), crispbread (crackers), rye bread, nuts and seeds, coffee, tea, cocoa, herbs and spices, sauces and condiments.3 -
The usual recurring items on my list:
• I eat a lot of soup, rice & beans w/ veggies & meat, cottage cheese, yogurt, eggs, tuna/fish/egg salad - these account for the majority of my shopping list..
Produce:
- apples

- (occasional) salad mix
Meat:
- chorizo/polish sausage and/or rotisserie chicken
Organic/Etc section (Wegmans):
- Clif Bars
- GF crackers/mini toast
Dairy:
- Yogurt
- cottage cheese

- Mixed vegetables (for soup)
- Tuna
- Fruit spread (for the yogurt, cottage cheese)
- Crackers
- crushed/diced tomato (for soup)
- mushrooms (for soup, rice & beans)
Latin Aisle:
- dried beans (soup, rice&beans)
- masarepa (for arepas, sort of a corn-based english muffin)
- canned beans (soup, rice & beans)
Frozen:
- Fish
- spinach and/or collard greens
- italian green beans
- corn
- peas
- other misc veggies

We pretty much always have:
Romaine, tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, brussels sprouts, green beans, green onion, yellow onion, and garlic, lemons and limes
Renee's Caesar and Greek feta dressing, hot sauces, mustard, multiple vinegars and finishing oils
Cheddar cheese, Parmesan shavings, light goat cheese, full-fat sour cream, eggs
POM juice, grapefruit Perrier, Coke Zero, Barq's Root Beer (husband...blech)
Chicken thighs, salmon fillets, shrimp, ground turkey, thick-cut bacon, whole frozen poultry of some kind, Morningstar chipotle black bean burgers, Happy Planet Thai Coconut Soup
Canned tuna, canned chicken, pickles, jarred jalapenos, black and green olives, Salt Spring coffee beans
Quinoa, jasmine rice, short pasta,"ancient grains" bread (lol), naan, flour tortillas, croutons
Then my husband chooses some frozen convenience food as he doesn't really cook so he needs options for when I'm not there: perogies, potstickers or spring rolls, calamari, those broccoli and cheese stuffed breaded chicken things, pizzas, whatever he can find that looks appealing to him in the frozen aisles at Costco pretty much.
We also get tortilla chips and Pringles for him, veggie straws and Angie's kettle corn for me, and occasionally a bag of those Brookstone chocolates.
We are super boring. I eat a giant salad with a black bean burger, egg, or can of tuna/chicken thrown on top pretty much every night. He has either chicken thighs or salmon in some way and also eats a lot of salad, just includes a lot more starch and animal fats than I do, since I'm pretty light and I have a way lower TDEE than him, even though I run regularly.

For some reason I buy a bag of shredded iceberg lettuce every week. Otherwise I get yogurt for quick breakfasts and sometimes I get one frozen meal to heat in microwave for lunch. This is not all I buy but I get this almost every week in addition to fruit0

I've decided that I only want to eat nutrient dense food that fuels my workouts, so meat, veggies, whole grains, dairy, nuts, fruit and of course, the occasional treat! So, if it isn't meat, vegetable, whole grain, eggs or dairy, a nut or a fruit I just don't buy it.
My body is thanking me. Even if I go way over my calorie goal, at least I know I'm fueling myself. So I don't worry too much.4 -

@ds41980 I hope you don't live in the UK as we're currently having an iceberg lettuce shortage (due to bad weather in Europe). One of the major supermarkets has started rationing them to three per person!!1 -

basically my list every week.
snacks include- the fruit mentioned above, sweet peppers w/ ranch, trail mix (nuts, raisins), cucumber/tomato (summer salad), cucumbers with ACV mint parsley and garlic, caprese salad, popcorn & pretzel stix, cheese & pepperoni0 -
My wife and I alternate cooking nights, so we sit down on the weekend and plan what we're going to do for the week and then we make a list of stuff and go shopping for anything we don't have on hand.
We shop at Costco, so a lot of stuff in bulk...so some trips are bigger than others.2 -
