Does eating salty food before your weighing day affect the number on the weighing scale.

    I mean yeah salt makes you retain water....Personally i probably wouldnt worry about it though. Weight loss is hard enough without worrying about retaining water constantly. Not going to stop the fat loss. A million things can cause your weight to fluctuate you cant control them all. Ironically the stress of trying would probably cause more fluctuations. LOL

    It can cause you to retain water which can mask fat loss. I try to go easy on the sodium in the few days before weighing so I'm as close to baseline as possible.

    Yes. You may retain water and be a couple lbs up.

    That's why I just always eat a lot of salt consistently. Joking...maybe. Not.

    Salt can cause your cells to retain water, but some research indicates that if you properly balance it with potassium that you won't experience that problem. In the cells, salt attracts water into the cell, but potassium works the mechanism to release it.
