How many day one's have you had?

If every day were day 1 it doesn't seem like you'd have a problem. The problem seems to be that you never really have day 1. Make today day 1, as in stick to your plan all day. Then tomorrow you won't need to tell yourself it's day 1.4

This. I've had ongoing issues with weight since I was in puberty.
I've passed menopause now. This time? This time I finally get it.
I finally realize that weight management and fitness is a continuum. Every day has its challenges and opportunities. I'm a work in progress for the rest of my life. There will be no more day ones.3 -

Nah, there is nothing wrong with not starting a diet because it's Super Bowl Sunday.
Part of living life while managing your weight is understanding that there are just some days where you DGAF.3 -

Well today is truly my day 1. Don't get me wrong, I try and do my best and I am down a few but the weekend was not so good so in my mind I thought okay I'll start again on Monday. Should I have thrown a whole day away (yesterday)? No, but it is what it is. No go backs, right? Thanks all for your responses!0

Don't think of it as a thrown away day. Personally, I would have logged it for sheer entertainment value! There are some impressively high calorie counts for a single day on here. I'll try to find one of the threads for you! It will (hopefully) make you feel better about anything you could have possibly eating. In the end, it's not that single day that makes the difference, but what you do the remainder of the time.1 -
One. It was a Wednesday afternoon, after I received the news that my oral glucose test came back with a number that put me in the pre-diabetic range. I decided right there and then to lose the extra weight and then I got to it. Lost around 50lbs, normalized my glucose number, and have now been in maintenance for a few years.3

When I'm starting a logging sequence, I choose a Tuesday.
Why?
Because I'll give myself the weekend to eat however I want. Then I'll give myself Monday to kind of ease into it. I might log on the Monday but if I go a little bit over, that's OK. Also if I need to get supplies, like my lunch food or something, I can make those preparations on the Monday.
And then I'm ready to go on Tuesday.
Plus, to me, Monday is too cliché. Everyone starts on a Monday.

Sorry, I couldn't find the thread I was thinking of, and then got sidetracked. Some of the counts were coming in over 5K. Mind you, I've had a couple days over 4K.
Do you have a plan moving forward? Have you read some of the threads here on setting goals, not being solely focused on scale weight (take measurements and pictures), and logging accurately? There is a lot of great information available, unfortunately, a lot of not so great information as well.

This is my 3rd attempt at loosing weight1

so i snoffed at this before but tonight i went through and fully redid my meal plans, Closely matching up my macros using foods i love. Redid my weight loss plan (actually want to lose 5 pounds less now i like my curves)
It occured to me, First days dont need to be a bad thing When i get to do the math and make new goals i get re excited and it feels like the first day of a new diet, All the excitement of having fresh new fun goals.
I love all the fun math. Yay for day ones!2 -

the first when i started back in .... 2015? lost 70+ pounds.
maintained second half of 2016 due to life *kitten*.
second - jan 1 this year to continue with the weight i have left to lose.
its a lifestyle change. when i maintained, i simply ate at maintenance, which is easy for me to do without weighing/ logging. to eat in a deficit, i have to track and workout regularly.
just because you have a day of excess calories does not mean you are starting over it means you ate over days happen. holidays, birthdays, fun weekends. thats why its a lifestyle change you dont worry about those 'one off' days. they are life.2 -
I've had so many "day one"s. I spent years starting a day out well and then slipping up. Then I'd say, "I'll start again tomorrow......."
Of course, tomorrow never comes
Eventually I just decided that I would plan a day's meals........concentrate on just getting to bedtime without eating anything not on the plan......and that worked.
It's like the other posters have said.......just take it one day at a time.......when you are successful one day it gives you confidence to be successful the following day etc etc.

I lost count years ago... the important thing is to never give up. Once you truly get going then stop starting over just keep going even after a bad meal, day or week.1

I had plenty of those days. For me...having to start over and over and over meant I wasn't completely committed to change.
Sooner or later you just have to suck it up and do it.1 -
