Help! Am I doing this wrong??

I started a COMPLETE lifestyle change at the beginning of the year. (250.8 lbs@ first weigh in)
I started using MFP and have been 100% honest in my entries and have not missed a day. However, even though I have NOT gone over 1500 calories during any day, I have not lost as much as I expected. I don't exercise a lot, but I am not sedentary either. I cut all drinks but coffee and water. I use no cream or sugar and I eat 1/4 of the carbs I did. I eat mostly veggies, fruit, lean meats, a tad of rice and yogurt! I am SO FRUSTRATED!!!
I have lost SOME weight, as I am now at 237.0 - 5 weeks in , but not anywhere near what I feel should have come off with this many extreme changes!! I have not lost ANY weight in the last 12 days!!! :(:( I am nowhere NEAR the weight MFP said I may be in *5 weeks. I know I should not go by that , but shouldn't I be losing more!?
Any advice? Am I expecting too much?

13.5lbs in 5 weeks is amazing!! Sounds like you're doing everything right and you just need to keep it at. As the saying goes you didn't gain all the weight overnight, you won't lose it overnight.

Be patient, keep doing what you're doing and the rest of the weight will come off.

Yup. You're doing great. Patience... The last 12 days might have something to do with your monthly cycle. A lot of us find our weight goes a bit bananas in the run up to our periods. Keep doing what you're doing and the scales will start to move again.

Ps-use one of the online TDEE calculators to estimate your actual daily calorie burn. That may give you a better understanding. Your BMR is in the neighborhood of 1780/day (I guessed at age, height but the biggest factor is gender & weight) meaning your total burn is probably about 2300-2700 depending on how much exercise you do. So to be eating 1500 about the best you can expect is to lose 2 pounds per week.

Do you weigh all your solids and measure all liquids?

I am nowhere NEAR the weight MFP said I may be in *5 weeks.

The 5 weeks is only an estimate based on that specific day, not how you have eaten every day.

Yes you are expecting too much! It doesn't matter what makes up your calorie goal, just that you stay within it, so eating 1/4 of the carbs you were eating makes absolutely zero difference to the figure on the scale, except for maybe some water weight when you initially change your diet. 14lbs is a significant loss, so no you shouldn't be losing more.

You need to be patient and stick at it, if you want this to last long term you need to accept that it's a slow and steady process for a lifestyle change and not a quick fix.

Every person is different, so there’s no way to say for sure how much weight you’ll lose when following a weight loss program, but a safe and realistic goal is 1/2 pound to 2 pounds per week, or about 2 to 8 pounds per month.

Anything over 2 lbs a week is really good. Any more than that and is most likely just water weight, or even worse, muscle loss! What do your macro's look like, what kind of foods are you eating? A calorie is a calorie, but macros and the quality of the food you eat can sometimes determine what happens with those calories. For example, too many carbs and junk food can lead to less fat burn because your body has an abundance of carbs for energy and never taps into your fat reserves, but too little carbs can leave you depleted of energy (until you get into ketosis, but that is a totally different subject). If you want to speed things up a little some cardio is always a good thing. Not only will it speed up your progress, but it is good of your overall cardiovascular health. Use a step counter and if you are under 10,000 steps at the end of the day go for a walk or jog in place while you watch tv to get to 10,000. I'm a big proponent of strength training and I credit that to a lot of my progress, but not everyone has time for that.

Not UNHAPPY, just unsure and worried that I will fail....again. I am trying to make sure I do this the right way this time so that I do not regain the weight. I was a junior Olympic athlete til I was 16, and I know that 13lbs is a good drop, but I have not ever lost without working out.

This is the first time in my life I am completely changing my diet and lifestyle. I am a tad scared I guess, thats all.

    My normal day consists of

    English Muffin
Black coffee -sometimes with 1/4 cup soy milk
    Chobani 100 calorie flip
    Raw broc and carrots
    grapes or apples
4 oz chicken with veggies /sometimes rice
    popsicles
I usually get between 7-12 thousand steps in.

Thanks for all the responses! :) I am not trying to sound ungrateful for what I have lost, I don't want to sound silly. I am simply trying to make sure I do this the best way possible!!

is that ALL you are eating? I doubt that is even 1500 calories and it looks VERY low in protein. You are going to lose quite a bit of muscle mass if you continue like that.

It is not all that I eat, but I definitely stick to having those things as a staple. I usually will add in other things depending on my schedule that day. Things like a protein shake, bananas, eggs.....

I will look into adding more proteins on a daily basis, I do see it is not a lot.
