Not my weigh in day, Just need to vent! I am having a heck of a week diet & exercise wise! I haven't been to the gym since Friday last week (my weigh in is Saturday), and since I am doing well I gave myself a little lee-way on Saturday evening to splurge a little for my birthday and have desert, one piece of tirimisu can't hurt.....well I think the tirimisu cause a total brain meltdown because I have been going way over my points since then! Need to get back on track before I fall back to where I began. Thanks for letting me rant! Back on track!!!5

I have faith in you, you can do this. Refocus, it is never to late to be good to yourself. Take it one day at a time and keep going from here.6 -

I don't know if you've ever seen the movie "The Replacements" with Keanu Reeves, but in the football locker room they talk about "fear" and Reeves says his is "quicksand". He said that is when one mistake leads to another and another and before you know it, you're sinking in quicksand. Your post reminded me of how our lifestyle change is so much a mental process.
We can't get caught in the sand trap! We're here to pull you out! We can do this together.10 -

Good post. Your facing your reality and putting it out there. We all back slide a little. Now, push the reset button and carry on with your good habits which you have lots of. Don't worry about the naughty bits over the last couple days. You can't change it.10 -

OH I LOVE this so much !! I am a notorious 'all or nothing' thinker and often have to remind myself that one bad decision does not make for a whole bad day, week or year. We are all human and are going to make mistakes, it's what we do after - that's where our power is!4 -
Sorry folks, letting the side down with a 4lb gain. My slimming class leader asked what had gone wrong and I said that we had had a family meal. She asked me if I had been eating children! Yes, it's hard to understand someone who is trying to lose weight actually putting on 4lb in a week.
Back to work though and will start recording my food again. I've dug out my Aria scales and they sync my weight to my Fitbit dashboard.
Hope everyone else is doing better than I am. See you next week.6 -

I was an 'all or nothing' thinker but have finally moved on from that. While that may work for some it was very destructive for me. Not that I never fall back into that kind of thinking but not very often. I so agree about the one bad decision not making for a whole day etc... It was that realization that helped me move on.
On a side note: Keanu was my high school celebrity crush...lol.
Another side note: I asked this in another thread where I pose a question of the day but I am going to ask it here too... What is your peaceful moment? As in what event or action do you find yourself really at peace?
In the other thread some said things like, watching her children sleep, sitting on a deck at a cottage with a cup of coffee, looking at the nearby mountain range our her window.
So, what is yours?

Glad I am not the only one who has these days. I am so hungry and tired today, not a good combo. I have been working at this for 3 weeks now. This is the time I know I struggle. I have been doing so well, but am struggling today so much more than I expected. I keep reminding myself that the weight didn't get put on in a day, it won't come off in a day. But some days, like today, I just don't want to be logical. Today I just want to cheat. I want to allow myself that one day, and then I will start again. We all know how hard it is to start back up again, one cheat day becomes many. SO I am owning this today. I am reaching out. I am reminding myself, and by writing here hopefully being accountable, I can do this and make good choices today. Maybe today I need a little more and don't meet the calorie goal, but I can get that more with good choices that I will not regret tomorrow. Thanks for helping me and being here with me. Thanks for getting me over this hurdle.8

This weeks successes: although my weights seem to be on a roller coaster yoyo journey, I did get below 238lbs below 17st last week, unfortunately 2 big carb meals on the bounce notched me back up again!
Still can see my top ribs though!! :-)
Starting week 5 of Insanity.
This weeks challenges: having to eat and drink to reach my BMR even though I don't feel like I'm hungry. Sticking with Insanity, freak me it's hard and getting harder or at least feels like it!5 -

I had a nutrionist once tell me that if I had a "real" craving for that Snickers bar, then eat it. She said that if we don't occasionally splurge on what we crave then we will eat every other thing in the house trying to satisfy the urge for chocolate and still end up eating that candy bar. She said to save yourself the added calories and just have the Snickers. We don't have to have cheat "days". What about a cheat "meal" or even better, a treat "item" during one day? Just as long as you can get back on track and stay away from the "quicksand". Lol7 -

Starting weight: 226.4 lbs
Goal weight: 155 lbs
Current weight: 212.5 lbs
Total Weight Loss so far: 13.9 lbs
This week's successes: I can't believe the scales are still going down!!??? I am eating well - most days I was under my calorie goal - but I didn't get a lot of exercise in this week (see this week's challenges). I am 6 weeks in, and this is when I normally plateau. So I was surprised to see the scales drop again... this is awesome and I am sure it is all due to my food logging on MFP... proof that keeping track of what I am eating is SO important...
This week's challenges: The heat! We are in the middle of a heatwave with temperatures over 38 C (100 F) since Wednesday, and I just feel so tired after work, and it is still so hot to go out and walk in the evenings. Thankfully, the temperatures are dropping back to a normal range from Sunday, so my walking will be back on track next week.
This week's quote: "If you don't like where you are, change it. You are not a tree."

Goal weight: 140ish
Current weight: 171 (2/3)

This week's successes: Tracked all week, ate with purpose,. Exercised all week and kept up with challenges. Managed a yesterday without going over board, even though I was tired and hungry all day. Did indulge, but made good choices and stopped before being out of control.
This (coming) week's challenges: Knee is getting better, so exercise is slow and steady. I always have trouble between weeks 3 and 6, if (when) I get past there I tend to stick with it. But I know these are the hard weeks for me. My body holds on to everything and I actually gain weight no matter what I do for a few weeks, then I will see a good drop again. It is very frustrating, but I know it is coming. SO I have to suck it up buttercup and remember I am worth it.9 -
