And I felt EPIC! I hate running, I've tried to enjoy it numerous lengthy times with my husband, I tried treadmill and outside running but just loathed it. The thing I hated most about it was always catching my "second breath" (lack of controlled breathing) and just feeling weak whilst running. Last Summer I tried once more to enjoy it with my husband and once again failed to enjoy it.

I've currently got a PT (on my 15th Session) and I'd explained to him my reasons for hating running, he said the weight training I'm doing with him will make me stronger for things like running....Yesterday I just randomly thought "I'll just do 15mins on the treadmill"...36mins, 5k and the most determination I've ever had with running later I had hit 5k for the first time ever! I was super chuffed. I felt stronger, my lungs felt stronger i.e. I wasn't constantly catching that breath all time and no shin discomfort. I used to suffer from this dull ache in my shins after running so I got myself properly fitted for trainers at the ASICS shop, however, by that time I hated running so much I never got to use my new trainers for running purposes until yesterday :-) Still feeling super chuffed.

That is awesome! Running has been totally addictive for me. I love to join a race, but my main competition is always ME!

Getting that done on a treadmill is awesome, but do yourself a favor and sign up for a local race. It doesn't matter what your finish time is, you'll have more fun than you can imagine. Then you're hooked. A runner you will become.

Well done!! That's similar to me. I've tried running at various times throughout my life. I always had to do a walk run combo. After 60 days of P90X3, I got very fit and had the desire to run. On my off day for P90X, I went to the gym and ran 3 miles straight on the treadmill. I'd never done that in my life! I kept running once a week through the end of P90X3, and after that I gradually became a runner. Now, Im running my 1st marathon in 2 weeks!!

Watch out now!! It's addicting!! Hope you keep at it.
