A friend has recommended the Kim Beach No Excuses 8 week plan...does anyone have any experience with this...good or otherwise??

no idea anything about it but based on the name whats wrong with excuses i thrive off excuses. I set myself excuses to go walking....And excuses to buy minimal amounts of stuff from grocery store so i have more excuses to walk my butt back XD
No for real though...Diet plans are a meh in my book anyway. Beter off to take the time to learn what your body wants/needs/does well with and what exercises work for your goals by trying everything, Diet plans tend to limit options. Especially if you need to pay... Do you really like to be told what to do that youd be willing to pay for it? its pretty common sense and very individual so i cant see that going well ...If you want the help to learn some recipes and stuff theres tons online for free

If it includes that delicious looking thing in your photo (what is that, a pie?) then it has to work.
I just eat food, and stay under my calories. Easy, peasy.

As for the pie...its beef and guinness and is delicious!
So, I've gained 10kg over the last 6 or so years and in my quest to get back to my previous weight I've looked at so many eating methods such as Atkins, South Beach, What the Fat, Intermittent Fasting (which was good and may go back to) and have become confused. I am interested in nutrition and eating whole and real food plus increasing plant based meals.
I'm going to do the Kim Beach plan as I've looked through the food lists and I have everything already so it's not a case of going out to do a big shop for fancy food.
For me, it will be a stop to the confusion so I can "reset" my mind set and then go from there. Plus I don't need to part with $$ as my friend has given me the info.
The hardest thing is cutting out wine!

maybe you need to listen and put your efforts into finding YOUR meal plan vs mindlessly following others.... Was put nicer above but that about sums it up

Also for the record when i started i was making complex meals and exploring all the same stuff, But the second i stopped complicating it and wasting my money on making all these varied different meals my weight loss sped up and became easier. So im not downplaying the importance of doing that exploring, Just think following a strict set meal plan set by someone who knows nothing about you or what you like or thrive off of cuts that important step right out....cant be sustainable..1 -

I don't care for wine, but my meal plan includes Guinness and after reading this thread should really include Beef and Guinness Pie.
OP, If that pie is not on Kim Beach's plan skip it. Diet plans work because you are eating fewer calories than you burn. MFP cuts out the silly and just gets down to the calories and lets you eat pie.1 -

The best diet is the one that does not require eliminating food and that can be sustained long term. Eat real food and stay in a calorie deficit and you will lose weight no matter what diet you do.3 -
My sister in law did this and list a lot of weight and has kept it off for 2 years. I guess what meal plans give you is a new suite of recipes and ways of cooking different things to the ones that lead to the weight gain.0

It's a winner.
The best "diet plan" is one you make up yourself, to suit you, which meets your own health goals and includes your own favourite foods and hits a calorie goal that achieves what you want to achieve. Following someone else's plan is always going to be second best (if that).2 -
