Hot or Not: Michelle Obama's Gown

Okay, politics aside. This is NOTHING political. Don't bring politics in here.
I'm talking FASHION.
What did you think of Michelle Obama's gown worn to the Inaugural Ball?

Hot or Not? NOT!
I thought this dress looked like something I could sew together.... and I don't sew. The shoulder sash was boxy, the bodice was well fit, but the gown made her hips look wide. And what about all that texture? It reminded me of a fabric from the seventies... I was not a fan, and I believe she generally dresses stylishly.
(BTW, as an offside... Barack's smile at her was precious!!)

That was a gown? I thought it was curtains she grabbed off my grannies windows.0
-
Not! She really should stick with sofisticated sassy look.0

She's got a great body! So, I'd say she pulled it off. Not my favorite though.0 -

THANK YOU SHANNON!!
That is what I was thinking of, somewhere in the back of my mind.0 -
I thought they both looked lovely, :flowerforyou: so in love and proud of one another.:smooched: I agree about His smile as He looked at her while dancing.:smooched:
I think it fit her style, perhaps we're used to other first ladies being more traditional so this one was very different than the traditional but I still thought she looked lovely. I noticed the dress but I think I noticed their faces beaming more than I did the clothes they wore.
I do think it would be difficult to be in the public eye and have someone telling you what you're wearing and no longer allowed to wear because of your new role as First Lady. :ohwell:

But then again I'm older than many of you so it has different memories for me:flowerforyou:

I like the dress, I think it's very pretty but not formal enough for the event.0

I've seen worse.

Just for the record, I'd poke fun at anyone in the dress.
I am sure I will have that opportunity as prom season rolls around.
No harm intended, we just all have our different styles we like,
BUT as a celebrity, the general public gets to critique your every move!!!
(I mean, this dress probably cost as much as my daughter's annual day care tuition!! :noway: )0 -
It is nice to see people who truly love one another and enjoy one anothers comapany.
Hopefully this will give younger women an idea of what love really looks like. :drinker:I thought they both looked lovely, :flowerforyou: so in love and proud of one another.:smooched: I agree about His smile as He looked at her while dancing.:smooched:

I'm itching to get home now so I can see more than a big red X.
Stupid work intarweb filters!! :explode:0 -
i don't think she could look bad in anything. i think the color was lovely against her skin but the cut and fabric could use some work.
and i agree that she could have worn something more formal.0 -
What the duck?!
So Sorry.I've seen worse.

You could probably pull it off Tam! Just do me a favor... Ditch the nylons with the open toed shoes. It's one of my biggest fashion pet-peeves! (And yes, that's what I noticed first...Not the ugly ducking dress.)0 -

That is exactly what I was thinking of too - I was going to say a blanket from my grandmother's bedroom!!! Too funny!:laugh:0 -

Who's the lady in the background? She looks like Snoopy rising out of the pumpkin patch.
There's a lady in the background?
I don't see a lady in the background.
You sure you aren't seeing a ghost???0 -

I really did not like it....I was thinking she would wear something one shoulder but not like that style...but maybe she just wanted something that would be comfortable to get in and out of cars and not show wrinkles from sitting....:flowerforyou:
It really did not flatter her at all....:noway:0 -

I didn't think about how that fabric wouldn't hold a wrinkle.... Maybe I need to rethink this. Hmmm0 -

Hot. I think she looked beautiful.0
-
Why would she allow someone to convince her to wear a dress like that? It looks like it was made from one of those old bedspreads.0
