Plateau!

So after 35 lbs lost since June, it seems that I can not lose anymore weight. I am still considered overweight as I am not out of the low 200s and I am 5'4. I have heard that plateaus can last for some time but I would say that I have not seen any real loss in over a month. Just fluctuations. I have heard that after a while you may need to change up your exercise. I thought I do enough of a range; I walk daily for minimum 30 mins, lift weights, and lots of cardio. I generally eat 1200 calories a day but have also heard that I may not be eating enough which could slow down things? Suggestions PLEASE lol

How are you measuring your intake?2

For everything? Including prepackaged foods?
Do you mind opening up your diary? There could be other discrepancies that will be easier to see.1 -

No such thing, exercise more2

Or eat less2

All the excercise you do sounds like you need more food, lean protein, veggies, fruit. even though you say you don't do a lot it sounds like a lot and 1200 calories is a lean intake and your body maybe holding on because it may view this as a starvation mode. I'm in the same weight range as you I exercise less and eat more food and the pounds are coming off, it works as you know maybe slower or faster depending on the individual but you must find the proper balance between your food and exercise intake, out put far as calorie burn. And remember stay hydrated, you got this.1

Don't eat less, that's already the recommended minimum that you can still get all your daily nutrients, if you eat a balanced diet and if not you maybe lacking vital nutrients.1

No. The idea that one won't lose weight if one doesn't eat enough is a myth. If someone is in a deficit, they will lose weight. Extended periods of low calorie intake *may* change what would otherwise be a deficit for you. But "starvation mode," in the way you're using it, isn't a thing.5 -
I can't see your food log, but if you're messaging with Malibu she'll give you specific feedback.
For general though: do you log everything, every day?
Do you account for drinks, condiments, cooking oils? Use a food scale for everything including meat, veggies, fruits, slices of bread, etc.?
Do you enter your own recipes, avoid 'generic' or homemade entries from other users?
Do you weigh raw and use raw entries, or weight cooked and use cooked entries? This is important because cooking changes the weight and may or may not change the calories, depending on the method. Such as 6 ounces baked chciken may have been 7-9 ounces raw.2 -
I was on a plateau for 8 weeks. Up and down on the same couple of pounds. Several wise ladies on here suggested that I take a diet break and eat at maintenance calories (1640) for 10 to 14 days. I was terrified! I managed a week and then went back to 1200 and am slowly losing again. My case was a bit odd because at the same time my doc changed my meds which caused a weight gain of about 4 pounds which I've lost but the next few weeks will tell for sure. Just a suggestion. If you choose to do this please only eat at maintenance for a specified time and then get right back on track. At the end of a week I was beginning to get used to eating more so that is why I did not continue. I had been on 1200 calories for a year.1

I normally weigh cooked foods which I am learning may not be best. I also use the recipes that are in the database but will enter my own. Thank you!
