    The speed limit is artificially low. That's why. The default speed limit could easily be 80 and still be safe.

    The 1960s called, and want 55 back. We no longer live in an era of lap belts, horribly made suspension, or brake and tire manufacturers with quality control that would make a trailer park meth cook blanche.

    My husband is a police officer, and took me for a "ride" one day. You know in the movies where the passenger tries to hold onto the roof? Yeah that was me. I love going fast, but that was terrifying. My husband laughed, I cried, so it was a good day.

    55 is fine on highways for me. I prefer 70 on remote stretches of multi lane interstates.

    My car is so smooth and quiet that 80-85 feels more like 45.

    I recently got a ticket so now I only do 5-9 miles over the speed limit. I never speed in school zones. That's asking to get a reckless driving ticket.

    Thank goodness for cruise control. My foot is made of lead and most of the time I don't even realize I'm speeding!

    I like to be safe than sorry. So I speed over the limit. Not because I'm trying to take my mother in law to the hospital
