After loseing the weight by just eating healthy and going for walk everyday. I still get question why I still eat healthy, weight and measure food and like to go for walks for 60 minutes everyday.

I just had this discussion with a friend, who then went for his physical and realized why I still do this. From last year to this year his health has gone down some (nothing major), my physical was rather boring - no issues. Health does not just happen, for some people it can just appear that way.

You just answer them anyway you feel at the moment and know that what you are doing is what is best for you.
  • Tell them you made a lifestyle change. Plain and simple.

Ask them why they don't do those things.

I often ignore the remarks and refuse to comment. Or straight say I am not going to discuss how I eat or exercise, or I am not interested in talking about it.

You don't owe any explanation to anyone

Because the vast majority of people see "diet" as a verb and a temporary act rather than a noun. Most people associate regular exercise with weight loss rather than fitness. Mostly people are dumb as *kitten*.

Yep. I've found most people think if you say you exercise they are like "why you don't need to lose weight" they don't understand exercise is a part of daily maintenance. My relatives and friends are always like "I started exercising a few times a week but haven't even lost anything". Most people think exercise = weight loss. It's kinda sad lol.

I think it would blow some people's minds if they discovered that some people lose weight to improve their physical activity rather than being physically active to lose weight.

Yeah, no kidding! Sometimes I've been in "lose 3-5 lbs mode" as I was picking up my running mileage. People couldn't get it at all. And explaining the extra seconds you end up with for your mile time per extra pound you're carrying around didn't help ...

That's because most people think in terms of "diets" and when they lose weight they go back to their "non-diet" eating. That is why so many people that lose weight gain it back. I will not always have to eat at a deficit, but I will always have to pay attention to what I am eating so that I don't eat more calories than I burn. I also get people who don't understand why I'm still watching what I eat even though I have lost the weight I was trying to lose.

You sum up the situation properly. It's not a diet we're on but on a lifestyle change also we've educated ourselves as far as food and how it affects us it's like anything else it's a lifetime commitment. Yes people don't understand why we do it but we fully understand the consequences are going back to the old habits
