I am signing up for my first 4 Mike race. I know there is no way I can run/jog the whole thing yet, so do I sign up for the walk or the run portion?

Sign up for the run portion, it will push you to train harder and even if you cannot run the whole thing, at least you gave it your all. If you sign up for the walk portion, in the back of your head you will always have an excuse to not push yourself.

You should download the C25K app. That may help for your training. I'm doing my first 5K in August, and I definitely enrolled to the running part. I figured that even if I'm not able to finish the race running I can always walk. Good luck.

Sign up for the run. How long have you got for training? Start by mixing running with walking. If you have to walk a bit during the race that's ok (I do it all the time).

When is the race? How far can you currently run?

Thanks everyone. The race was Sunday. I'm on week 3 or C25K now. I by no means finished with a good time but I did run/walk intervals and finished it, that was enough for me. I had to start somewhere!
