Spin class twice a week, would this be considered "active" or not according to building a profile?

No, you would add that as exercise manually on the days you do it. If you are otherwise not up and about all day, like if you stay at home or work seated at an office desk and drive to and from work, set yourself as sedentary. I work out 7 days a week and add my exercise in, but I am otherwise sedentary as my work is at a desk and I work at home and just noodle around quietly most days.1

Working out 2x a week is lightly active, to be considered active you had to workout 4-6x a week.
You have to add your exercise manually.0 -

Sorry that's wrong - exercise isn't part of your activity setting at all on myfitnesspal.
It's work & lifestyle factors, explicitly not deliberate exercise. That's why you log it separately after the event.
If you bumped up your activity level due to exercise and then added it manually you would be double counting.
