Which scale to trust?

So we have two older digital floor scales and just bought a brand spanking new weight watchers blue tooth scale yesterday. I am 2 whole pounds lighter on the WW scale than I am on the two other digital scales ( which both scales weigh me the same thing ). Which do I trust?

I would only weigh myself on one scale going forward. Pick the one you like best and get rid of the second one.

Doesn't matter. Pick one (I assume the new one) and log it in a trending app. I use Trendweight with a Withings scale. It's too bad the new one shows a bit higher, but they are never 100% accurate.

Without paying an insane amount of money, no home scale is going to be 100% accurate. Pick one to use and be consistent.

As everyone else has said, pick one and be consistent. Put it in a place where it doesn't have to be moved (mine is in my laundry room) and use it the same time of day wearing the same thing.

If you ever want to test it against a really accurate one like the doctor's scales, next time you see you doctor, step on your home scale fully clothed just before going out the door. Don't eat or drink anything on the way and make sure you still have the same clothing (and shoes if you wore then on your home scale) and have nothing additional in you pockets when you step on the doctor's scale.

I did this a couple of times and my home scale was consistently 1/2 lb over the Dr. scale which tells me that it is consistent and reasonably accurate. I am happy with that and never use the Dr. office weight.

Your new scale is 2 lbs lower? Awesome - I'd be celebrating my fast "loss". ;)

I do hate scale inconsistencies though. I've discovered that my scale will vary in weight by a number of lbs depending on where in the bathroom it is set (same type flooring and level ) and whether my weight is distributed towards my toes or my heels. Now I have no idea what's right. Lol

I'm sorry. I mis-read and thought the new one was higher. Yeah, celebrate your 2 lb loss and don't even look at the others :)

Okay, I admit I don't do this. My Withings is scale # 4 for me, but it is close to scale #3 (if I reset it properly) so if I have the urge to weigh outside of my normal, first thing, just peed, no clothes except underwear time of the day weighing, I weigh on #3. If I weigh on #4 it automatically updates my weight in all my apps, so I make sure to only step on it once a day. You's will likely be the same, so if you do weigh outside of the normal time (and I know we are not supposed to, but sometimes you just want to see what the prime rib dinner did to you), use an old scale knowing you need to deduct 2 lbs.

2lb is a really small error actually, 3-4lb wouldn't surprise me. A scale is an incredibly difficult device to make and keep accurate. No two scales will give the exact same answer, so just pick one and stick with it.

Pick the one that makes you happier. If you trust the one that shows less, that doesn't mean that you are 2lbs lighter than before nor does trusting the other mean you are 2lbs heavier than before. If you see what I mean... Only relative weight has meaning. On the moon you'd weigh much less. How important is that you?

Pick one and dont worry about it. If the last scale you used said you lost or maintained weight, then you lost or maintained weight :) small fluctuations in current weight from scale to scale dont matter.
