Is losing weight in the number given?

I set up MyFitnessPal for weight loss and was given a number. For those curious, it's 2,671 calories I think. Does this number already factor the deficit for weight loss? Meaning, if I eat the daily number, I will lose weight or stay the same?

What are your stats?
Sex
Weight
height
age
desired weight loss
All depends on the above. I started losing eating ~2300, with a 2 lb per week loss goal. But I'm 6' and was over 300 lbs at the time.
Now I'm 6' and ~255 and the number is 1550. Still with a 2 lb loss.0 -
That seems impossible lol. I only eat 1200 calories or less a day and I'm losing weight slowly0

When you set up your profile, did you tell MFP that you wanted to lose weight? And if so, how much? As long as you told MFP that you want to lose (not that you want to maintain or gain), your deficit is already factored into your target. It will give you the number of calories to eat, without exercise, in order to lose.
FWIW, just based on the profile pic, the OP looks like he's a big guy, and he's a young guy. They get a LOT more calories to play with than just about anyone else.1 -

My Statistics:
Sex. Male
Weight. 285 lbs
height. 5'10"
age. 26
desired weight loss. (Since it said too fast is bad I said 1lb week)1 -
It's entirely possible. My husband is bigger and taller than you and losing on 2250 a day. But he's set to 2 lbs a week.0

That should be your calorie goal then. I would try for a week and log everything. Weigh your solids with a digital scale to accurately count your calories and then see how you feel that first week. You can adjust as you go, if you want to increase or decrease your rate of weight loss. Sometimes if you are extremely active you may want to change it to a .5 lb weight loss a week if you need a little more calories.0

Your maintenance estimate (Scoobys) if you were sedentary is 3,062. So a 1 pound a week loss would be 2,562

Yep, it's all factored in based on the stats and goal you entered. Other than being almost a decade younger than me, your stats are similar to mine when I began. The goal they gave you sounds about right for weight loss.1

Then it seems about right. And you should lose at at that calorie level. But you probably can up the weight loss if you think you can handle eating less. As I said, I'm ~255 (I really can't believe that I got under that number today, Yay for me) and eating around 2000. With about 500 added back from exercise, that is still a 2 lb per week loss.
Try it at what you have for a while, but if you want maybe go to 1 1/2 lb per week.0
