I Hate Cardio

But I did it anyway, gosh darn it!

Started with 30 minutes on the treadmill, alternating between a fast walk on a moderate incline, slow walk on high incline and jogging on a low incline. Followed by 20 minutes of Shoulders/Arms & Core and finished on the stationary bike for 30 minutes.

My legs feel like jelly.

Cardio and lifting weights is for fitness and health. They are NOT necessary for weight loss if that is your goal. There are so many examples of lifters don't do cardio and are fit and lean.

I do enjoy biking more than running.

There's wisdom in here for everybody who says they hate cardio.

Yep ... another one here who isn't all that keen on running (although walking and hiking is all right) but who loves cycling. :)

I can't say I love running, but I love how I feel afterwards. It never feels easy for me so I always feel like I did something great when I power through and get it done :)

I love this thread. OP, I hope you got the validation you wanted/needed ;)
(P.S. I love my deep water cardio class and I'm not ashamed to admit it. AND, my Sunday runs with my sister-if you call 12 minute trail miles a "run" haha!!)

I switch it up throughout the year. Late spring thru summer and fall, I have a regular schedule of mountain biking and pickleball. I also walk my dog through the forest every morning for a couple miles.

When it gets too cold out, I move indoors to the gym and do the elliptical a couple times/week, plus I increase my outdoor walking distance to 3-5 miles/day. Just when I'm sick of elliptical, hey, it warms up and I pull my bike and paddle out; yay!

[note, weightlifting occurs year-round...because lifting is great]

Point being, you don't have to slog through something you hate; or if you feel you must, it doesn't have to be forever. Shake it up.
