What's your morning routine?

I need to change up my morning routine, but am not sure how to do it. Curious what other folks do to help them get up and go. Do you have a certain thing you do that makes it easier to get out of bed and face the day?

4:30- Alarm, let the dog outside
4:35- Shower
4:45- Get dressed
4:55- Feed the dog
5:00- Wake the boys up
5:05- Put lunches in backpacks and put everything into the car
5:15- Get in the car to go to work
I'm not sure if there is any motivation or things to do to get out of bed and face the day, it needs done so it gets done.
ETA: I do a lot of my prep stuff in the evening, such as pack lunches and set out anything we'll need for the next day. Being prepared the night before makes the mornings less stressful.1 -
I have a 4 and 6 year old...I have no choice but to get up and go. I am not a morning person...it's never easy for me to get out of bed...but like I said, not much choice in the matter.
I do look forward to my coffee though.

04:45 - Wake up
05:00 - Actually get up after hitting snooze at least once, put on workout clothes
05:05 - drink coffee.. strong coffee. Maybe a pre-workout.. or both.
05:30 - Start cardio, Bowflex M5, max settings, HIIT and steady state, 30-35 minutes
06:00 - Step off Bowflex, start Circuit Training, no rest between sets, alternate upper body/bodyweight/abs/etc.
07:00 - Stop Circuit Training, hit the shower, get ready for work
07:20 - fix breakfast and a protein shake
07:30 - eat breakfast
07:45 - complain about having to go into work to wife who may or may not be up yet
07:50 - go to work
That's on workout days. On rest days I simply sleep in until almost 7, get ready, eat breakfast, and go to work. Kids are all grown, so no need to drag them out of bed any more.

Alarm goes off at 6:45 - hubby gets up. I lounge around and read Facebook til 7. Then shower and dress (hubby makes my coffee in a travel mug) and I'm out the door at 7:25. I have short hair, it doesn't take me long to get ready. I drive to the bus station and then catch the express in and I'm at the office by 8am.
I guess the thing that makes it easier is that hubby sets the alarm and gets up. And I don't have kids at home anymore - I only have to worry about myself. Plus, I cook all of my lunches on a Sunday and put containers in the fridge so I just have to grab one each morning. The less you have to do the easier it is.1 -
I quit my job in January - yeah! So my mornings are a lot easier.
6:20 roll out of bed, brush teeth, put contacts in, put workout clothes on
6:30 set out clothes for kids
6:35 drink coffee, straighten up the living room and kitchen
6:45 hustle the kids along getting dressed, backpacks packed
7:10 out the door to take them to school
8:00 workout at home or at the gym
If my husband is gone, I get up about 10 minutes earlier because I have to feed the kids breakfast (cereal and milk).1 -

Gah, if only I were that organized and less lazy...
4:30 - husbands alarm goes off (wakes me up, so annoying)
5:00 my alarm goes off, hit snooze
5:04 hit snooze
5:08 hit snooze
5:12 hit snooze
5:16 hit snooze
5:20 consider getting in the shower
5:25 in the shower
6:00 run around like a crazy person gathering school clothes, backpack and fixing kids lunch, defrosting the car, etc
6:20 hopefully pulling out of the driveway
7:00 work starts
So...yeah...you can say I don't do well in the mornings. Getting out of bed is the worst part of the day. I always have good intentions of getting out of bed at 5:00, never happens...okay, rarely happens, but it does happen sometimes2 -
I get up because I have to.
On weekdays:
About 7 AM dh's alarm goes off and the cat starts meowing. The cat doesn't stop meowing loudly until someone gets up to feed her. That someone is me. On the way to feed her, I walk past the guinea pigs. They start making lots of noise because they also get fed at that time.
7:30ish Dh gets up and leaves for work.
After feeding animals and cleaning litter pan, taking out trash, putting out any mail, I open the MFP app and enter my food for the whole day. The cat now wants to be held. I may start some bread dough.
I get whatever for breakfast (yogurt or something fast), get dressed and maybe walk around briskly a bit to get things flowing. I try to finish all that by 9 AM. Dd comes and tells me her alarm went off at 8:50 even though she is usually up before that eating or just being noisy. I check our schedule and pull out books and materials for homeschooling.
At 9 AM we begin homeschooling activities. I try to wash some dishes and exercise 10-30 minutes before lunch.
I prepare and eat lunch 11:30-noon.
On weekends:
There is no homeschooling but I do the rest of it and am usually cleaning or doing laundry in the mornings.
Get some pets or some kids.

I hate mornings and usually wake up in pain and take a while to get moving. I have a 6yr and 7yr old to get to school but hubby does the lions share which is a life saver for me, as Miss 6 wakes up at the crack of dawn and needs supervision from 5ish.
7:30 Hubby wakes me up
7:40 Stumble bleary eyed to the litchen to make kids lunches, pack school bags, and nag kids until they are dressed and ready for school with clean teeth and beds made.
8:00 breakfast and coffee
8:30 hubby drops kids to school while I get ready for work.
9:00 I start work (work from home so no commute)

I'm not as organized as others here... that makes me laugh, with how much organization I've undergone lately I still sound very casual compared to others. I feed the cat, drink a glass of water, medicate, then meditate for 15min while in front of my light therapy lamp. I'm not a morning person so I like my mornings as quiet and relaxing as possible.0

This is me!0 -
Up at the last possible moment (usually about 7:45 am)
Quickly dash through shower, dressing, etc.
And 35 minutes later, I'm jogging out the door on my way to the bus.0 -
On MWF I try to wake up at 6:45.
I get myself dressed then my 2 kiddos.
Get the kids something to eat.
Heat up breakfast or grab what I've pre-made.
I try to be out the door by 7:45 so I can get them to daycare and be at my class at 8:30.
TTH are more laxer because I have later classes unless I have my counseling appointments.
Once I'm up I feel okay but waking up is so awful. No matter how much sleep I get.0 -
I lollygag around the house waiting for the stop-don't-go traffic to clear out, then go to work, arriving about 10:00 am.0
-
Wake up around 5.45
Get up around 6
Take the dogs out for their run (my walk)
Feed the horses
Feed the doggies
Make lunch
Have breakfast
Quick workout (usually yoga/Pilates/Blogilates)
Three times a week I do the C25K programme as well.0 -
Get dressed.
Wake up my daughter.
Start helping her get ready.
Make toast and coffee.
Play a game while eating and drinking
Brush hair and teeth, wash face.
Drop daughter off
Head to gym

During the week only:
- I wake up on my own with energy
- Wash face, brush teeth, put hair in a bun or ponytail
- Drink my glass of water that's on my nightstand
- Read messages from MFP and my main email accounts
- Put on my workout clothes (I laid out the night before)
- Walk my puppy down the street
- Come back home and workout (I plan my workout routine the night before)
- Shower
- Respond to some messages
- Start working (I work from home)
- Eat a nice breakfast 2 - 3 hours later
- Get back to work2 -
- 5:00am - get up (alarm goes off and if I don't get out of bed when it goes off then I end up oversleeping, even if I've hit the snooze button). I don't tend to eat/drink before setting off for the gym (but do drink whilst at the gym; if I eat beforehand I feel nauseous) so it's literally roll out of bed, get dressed, wash, brush teeth and hair (not with the same brush) grab my bag (packed the night before) and go.
- 5:30am - in the gym, workout then shower (I spend far too long in the shower, a bit of "me" time)
- 8:00am - back home, having hoped all the way home that DH has the children up and that my teenager is all but ready for college, sort out breakfast for everyone (they usually wait until I get home, no idea why )
- 8:30am - walk my moody teenager to college
- 9:15am - back home ready to organise my other three children's day (they are home-educated) and to sort out any work (DH and I work from home).
We try to fit in a walk/other form of exercise during the day for my younger children plus I try to get in a cycle ride every day (missing a day makes things so much harder the next time I go).
Saturdays are slightly different as I have to be home by 7.30am to walk my daughter to work and there's no formal educating/work to do so it's all a bit more relaxed.
Sundays are even more relaxed as no work for anyone, so it's family time. I'm still in the gym by 5:30am though. I like going to the gym early as there are less bodies in there and it doesn't impact on home too much if I'm out early.
The only things I do to ensure that I get up in the mornings are:- going to bed at a decent time
- getting everything I need for the gym ready the night before
- making sure that I get out of bed to turn the alarm off- hitting the snooze button is fatal to my day. If I miss my gym time I feel cheated for the rest of the day; my family also feel the aftershocks if I miss it so they support me by getting up in the mornings (at a more reasonable time - I think that they get up at about 7am).

5:30 wake up to all the cats are using us as a door mat
5:35 feed the cats
5:40 quiet chores
6:30 coffee with My Honey
7:00 strength training (...maybe)
8:00 jog
9:00 loud chores
10:00 YouTube/nap
11:00 off to work!0 -
No real set daily routine here but it's close each day. I am an early person. I'm usually up anywhere from 5am-6:30am, depending on my night before and how late I went to bed. I like to get up before everyone else and get the kids lunches ready and get woke up. I don't usually eat my breakfast until after I take my youngest to school and get home around 8am to eat. I work from home so that varies too. I try to eat at the same times throughout the day though and exercise in the early to mid afternoon by walking on the treadmill.0

Hmmm I don't really have a routine due to my situation. I am usually up at 6. Several times a week up at 3 due to rough night/unable to sleep. Some days I sleep through the morning as I go back to bed around 7am if pain reduces enough other days I stay up and crash in afternoon.
I have several health conditions that have left me disabled so can no longer work/exercise. Lots of pain and fatigue. But to me, it's no excuse to eat my way to obesity. So am using MFP to ensure I at least stay at a healthy weight even if I can't really get "fit."0 -
My fuzzy orange alarm clock comes in around 5:15 to 5:30 and starts purring loudly right by my face and swoshing her tail up my nose.
I am usually up and starting to get dressed (in workout clothes laid out the night before) before my electronic alarm clock goes off at 5:45.
Then I feed my fuzzy alarm clock, have some coffee and mini breakfast. I pack my lunch and take out anything that needs to be prepped for dinner. I pack my gym bag with my work clothes and hopefully am in my car on the way to the gym by 6:30.1
