Probably not. Typically you get the best results by setting realistic goals, eating balanced meals, and setting new habits you plan to continue long after the "diet" ends. Check out some of the great advice threads tagged at the top of the getting started board

Any diet that puts you in a calorie deficit will work.

The questions are is it healthy and can you sustain it so as to maintain your loss?

A better strategy would be to plug your stats into Mfp and eat foods you like so that you set yourself up for a successful maintenance.

I have heard of this. It works only if it causes you to incur a caloric deficit. Same as any other diet.

My advice is to use my fitness pal to figure out a calorie deficit goal and eat any food you like that fits your goal.
You want to eat in a way that satisfies you and that you can sustain long term.
    Skip weird diets.

If it works I wouldn't know, since I hate boiled eggs

It's a silly fad diet that's been around for decades. You lose weight because you eat in a deficit. There's nothing special about this diet.

I think I'd prefer the boiled egg, chili beans, cabbage and popcorn diet. Might as well go all in!

Popcorn? I've never heard of that as a fartogenic.

Well everyone else covered all the points I was going to make:
    Overly restrictive
Doesn't teach how to build an appropriate diet
    Boring
    Smelly

Now I'm just here for the eggsellent puns.
