Can you lose 30lbs in 6 months?

I've lost 30lbs in the past 3 months, and I have another 30 to go. I'm 142lbs 5'1" and my goal is 112lbs. Is this a reasonable goal?

30lbs in 6 months, absolutely. 30lbs in 3 months, harder but definitely doable. Good luck on your journey.0

30 lbs in 3 months is not doable to go from 142 to 112. 30 lbs in 6 months is aggressive, but *might* be possible. Once you get into the "healthy weight" range, you want to be looking at about 0.5 pounds/week (and definitely no more than 1 pound/week). While still in "overweight" (but not "obese"), no more than 1 pound/week will be reasonable for a small woman.1 -
I lost 15 kg (33 lbs) in 16 weeks ... and then another 10 kg (22 lbs) in the next 16 weeks.0

I lost 30lbs in 6 months, got to 125lbs I'm 5ft and now I'm 145. My best weight is 130 which I'm aiming again for! ! Good luck0 -

Yes you are completely right, I did miss that part of the question. My bad0 -
You can but your deficit will be so small nearing the end that you likely won't want to eat so little to keep losing at the same rate. If you up it at that point you'll lose slower but it will still come off and you won't be hungry and have to exercise so much to make up a deficit.
For reference, I'm only slightly taller 5'3 but I started the same size I was 172, hitting 142 was easy in just a few months and 130 was doable (took several months) but took a lot of micromanaging calories and careful weighing and calculation with little room for slip ups and error. I'm going for 120 now and I have to be super careful and I'll be honest I'm not enjoying the deficit required to get this low. I was happy with my "new body" size/weight at 130 and the amount I could eat to maintain 130, but I just want to see what 120 looks and feels like, since I'm a shorty. If I can't sustain it and want to eat more I know I can always go back to 130 and eat more and be less restrictive in maintenance. Once you get to feeling "not overweight" under 135 I'm guessing, because it was 140 for me, you won't likely be in such a rush to hit your ultimate goal weight and cruise on in to the finish line. At least that's how it was for me.
Best of luck!0
