Fitbit - eating back activity calories throughout the day

My Fitbit banks activity calories throughout the day this is just general walking around. Can you eat these back just doesn't seem logical if your losing weight. On some days I do have some.

i wouldn't eat them back since most calorie counters that aren't watching your hr will be 20% inaccurate. it's better just to celebrate the workout and not eat those back.1

The fitbit also accounts for your BMR. Make sure your goals on fitbit and MFP are close to/or the same, and set it to allow positive and negative adjustments. From there, you can pretty much eat what it tells you. If you get an extra 200 calories from walking around during the day, you have the option of eating more to keep you at that same goal. If you don't eat them, you lose a little faster.1

For people with smaller deficits or who aren't very active, it may not be logical. But for those who are at a larger deficit or more substantial activity, eating back activity calories is very important. You have to fuel your activity for long-term success.1

Yes. I'm set to lightly active but with a retail job I easily surpass 10,000 steps several days a week. And I lost 65 pounds eating those calories back.1

Then eat back 80% of them. Your advice will be fine for someone who's only burning 100-200 extra calories, but would be dangerous for someone burning 500+ extra calories.1 -
I lost muscle mass from not eating them back. If your Fitbit is relatively accurate for you, and you are a pretty tight logger, eat them back.1

Cheers but when it says 1,300 remaining calories from not doing exercise when I have already eaten 1000 I don't understand it. Or is my Fitbit set wrong. I have enabled the negative adjustments.0

If I celebrate my long runs with nothing more than a glass of water and a smile, I will soon lose the ability to run.2 -

What is your total calorie goal prior to adjustments?1
