Is it true that too much fiber (above 30g per day) can leed to weight gain?

Good lord, no. Absolutely not. Too many calories will lead to weight gain. Fiber is a good thing and most folks don't get enough fiber rich, nutrient dense plant foods.

    NAW U GOOD. DSNT DIGEST
  • Only if it leads to constipation. Meaning the ummm... "blockage" will show up on the scale and once you set it free the scale will reflect that. You must drink enough water with a high fiber diet.

For me this is primarily the case when the fiber comes from grains, as most of the fiber rich green vegetables also have a lot of water in them.

Drink lots of water if your upping your fibre intake. If your taking a fibre supplement and not getting enough water it can actually make you constipated. A lesson I leaned the hard way. Lol

Also getting enough fat with your high fiber foods will help prevent constipation.

Are you primarily getting fiber from vegetables and whole fruits or grains and protein bars?

No fibre does not cause weight gain, if anything it will help you stay lighter by avoiding constipation. I aim for a minimum of 35g and go up to 50ish grams most days.

The fiber I get is from fruits, vegetables and grains and seeds, all this together. I don't eat protein bars

If you eat this way, and have, you shouldn't need huge amounts of water, just normal thirst quenching water, because vegetables and fruits have water. cheers.
