NEED TO BE STRONG

I don't expect today to be a good day because a lot of things are working against me. :grumble: My elliptical machine is in dire need to oiling and needs to be disassembled to do so. I have a birthday party to go to, which means cake. My kids were at a dance last night so I went to bed three hours late and a "wrong number call" woke me up early. I'm tired and my body is screaming, "COMFORT FOODS." It's almost noon and I haven't had breakfast yet and I really want more coffee.
All that being said, I could give in, but am opting to stick as close to program as I can. When I finish this post I'm going up for a regular breakfast and will take yogurt with me so I can eat that during cake time. Then I'm going to ask my husband to work on the machine while I'm gone so it'll be ready when I get home at 2:00. I'll eat lunch ( just a little later than normal), schedule some time to work on the machine, or I'll do a tape instead. Then a snack at the usual time. Then I think I'll have pasta for dinner, along with a nice hot serving of two vegetables, which seems to get rid of cravings, and a nice piece of chicken. If I have enough calories, I'm splurging on some white sauce....
I've learned a valuable lesson from recovering from other addictions and the most important is -- you just do it, even when you don't want to and you feel like screaming or crying. Wish me luck because today I feel like I'm really good to need it.

Don;t worry you can do it. I feel your pain though , as I just posted my breakfast and didn't realize that the little treat of a cappuccino fromTim Hortons just cost me almost 500 hundred calories...Yikes. Oh well I see a long walk in my future this afternoon... We can get through this..:flowerforyou:0

:flowerforyou: yea, I like this... walk and stamp your feet, punch the water if you're swimming, pound your feet on the eliptical trainer (when its fixed). All great ways to get out that anger and frustration and ... wahoo !!! Burning calories!!
its a mean start to the day with so many challenges but you can do it
good luck, we are all with you0 -
You can do this! You've already proven your strength by overcoming other addictions. You'll beat this too. Just remember on days like this to be kind to yourself in a way that has nothing to do with food. Maybe a hot soak in the tub or some time for leisure reading. Whatever is a special kindness to yourself.
Sending positive thoughts your way :flowerforyou:0 -
Thanks for your positive thoughts. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I headed right up for breakfast, although it was noon, and had something yummy before heading off to the birthday party. It was also a barbeque, which I didn't know about. Fortunately, the kids ate first so almost everything was gone. I had a simple little burger patty and a small spoon of potato salad. I hovered around the campfire so I missed the cake cutting, darn it. No one wanted to eat when I got home, and surprisingly enough I lost my craving for pasta, so we had sandwiches and soup. I modified mine by toasting, not grilling, loaded it with veggies, two strips of turkey bacon, no cheese, and mustard as a topping. I skipped the soup too and had two glasses of water because I didn't drink at the party since I don't drink soda and that's what they had and I didn't take water. Hubby really wanted onion rings, which I love, so I decided to have 4, and I picked the smallest ones we had. I'm off to add it to the diary and see if I have anything left or am I at my limit. Oh, and the machine didn't get fixed so I'll have to go to plan B.0
