Moms are great!
I'm feeling the feels today and want to know what everyone's fondest memories of their mom is. Or just a memory of their mom that sticks out.
I remember once when I was a little boy, elementary age, I wanted a candy bar in line at the grocery store. My mom said I couldn't have it. So me being me i grabbed it, opened it and took a bite. Thinking if it's open she would now have to buy it for me. Well she did buy it. She bought it and ate it in front of me. I learned two things that day, you don't steal and two when my mom says no she means no.

I love watching my mom's face light up and hearing her laugh she tells the story about how I embarrassed the hell out of her in church.
When I was four, I stood up in the pew and yelled at the preacher "Shut up, I have a headache!" My mom beat the hell out of me when we got home. She thinks it hilarious now.8 -
I have so many great memories of my mom from when I was a kid. It's hard to pick just one.
The one memory that sticks out the most is kind of recent. She came to stay with me for a week after I got out of the hospital after giving birth to my son. One day about 4 am, I'm going on no sleep for days and crying my eyes out because I was exhausted and couldn't get the baby to stop crying and sleep... here she comes, out of her room and tells me "just because my baby is 32 doesn't mean I don't know when she's crying," took the fussy baby and shooed me out of the room to get some sleep. Then cooked me breakfast a couple hours later when I had to wake up to feed my son.
She's the best and I wish I could see her more often. I'm gonna go call her now.13 -
All I got is when I was real young we were going to church and she wore this peach colored high collar, long sleeved, floor length, all lace dress and I remember thinking my mom was beautiful and I always thought that growing up. I'd always be in her room trying on that same dress but I was always too short.3

I Love My Mom4 -
Me and my mom went to a summer camp when I was a kid, I was a camper and she was staff, campers stayed in cabins with their dorm members, staff stayed in tents. I knew my mom didnt like camping but was glad she was doing it, the last night there was a bad rainstorm, and the next morning all the other tent-staying staff members went to the breakfast hall looking rough and tired, and my mom strolls in with prefectly done hair and makeup looking rested........she checked into a hotel!! love that panzy4

*crying* Why do you do this to me?
My mom and I don't have the best relationship but growing up she would write little letters to me and randomly give them to me (her advice towars life and love) or she would draw a picture of the sunset with an inspirational quote. Perhaps thats the reason why I'm fond of sunsets aside from their beauty. I cherish those with all my heart.jjewell1981 wrote: »I'm feeling the feels today and want to know what everyone's fondest memories of their mom is. Or just a memory of their mom that sticks out.

I'm a 69 yo grandfather but I still remember seeing my Mom come out in the yard and do a cartwheel when I was young! I remember being shocked that she could do that.
She was probably about 100# and was Mom to six of us!3 -
My mom has passed away but my fondest memory is of when I would get sick and be home from school she would give me tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. I always loved that!5

I was always a momma's boy and never wanted to leave her side. When I started preschool it was the absolute worst for me and I always thought mom wasn't coming back when she dropped me off. One day she woke up to pick me up from school, went outside and her car wouldn't start. She was scared shitless and worried about me being scared when I realized that she didn't show up. So, she got on my sister's pink huffy bicycle and hauled a55 to my school. The bike was so small, her legs would barely fit under the handlebars when she peddled. When she got there I thought it was just the coolest thing. I rode on the handlebars on the way home which consisted of many steep inclines and declines and had a freakin awesome time. When we got home I asked mom if we could do it again tomorrow.
Any parent that is worth a shìt will do anything they can for their children to ensure their safety and happiness. This is my mom and it's why I am the father that I am today.11 -
The most peaceful I have is from when I was 3 years-old. Simply of me and her sitting on the back of a truck tailgate in the sunny summertime listening to Carly Simon's song "Jessie."
To this day, I think of her anytime I hear it. I bought it and made it her ringtone. I'm sure we listened to other music that day but for some reason that song reminds me of my mom, summer, and peaceful quiet time.4 -

There were six of us and I have no idea how she handled it. My dad was a work aholic and wouldn't get home till late. There were times we drove her nuts and she'd escape away to her room and lock the door to just get some peace. But, there were other times I distinctly remember seeing the joy, love, happiness on her face as she watched us doing our activities. Now that I have two of my own I catch myself with that same look/feeling watching my daughter at gymnastics or my son playing soccer. My mom passed away 20 years ago and not a day goes by I don't think of her at least once.5

My ma is the most amazing and talented lady in all the land. When we had angora rabbits she would brush them, card the fur, spin it into yarn, then knit us hats and mittens. She now etches on glass, makes raw edge mirrors that would sell for a few hundred, and makes basically anything with precision and artistry. But one time...
We made gingerbread cookies. We'd made at least a dozen different kinds of cookies that day (holiday baking). It was like 11pm, and we were dumb tired. Anyway, ma iced all of them PRIOR to baking em, and they came out looking like they had cracked, dead, peeling skin. We called them the infected. It was hilarious.
Love that woman.7 -
My mom made my clothes that all the other kids were jealous of. Made my beautiful skating dresses. She stayed home so we'd get lunch at home and our house was the one to come hang out at cause she'd never judge the other kids, although she would us, but she'd always plan something fun to do like a fun craft or make cookies. I learned the fun house is the house that gives treats as snacks and that's what I do now that I have a child.5

She will pet my head when I'm sick even tho I'm a grown adult . My mom went years with out new clothing to make sure my sister and I always had nice new outfits for school as a single mother she went without a lot including food to make sure we never starved
My mom is an angel literally I don't even know she just is it makes me cry just thinking about it
My mom is the only person who has never left me . She means more to me than my own life.7 -

I have alot of fun memories with my mom.
One that sticks out is....
Usually we would go to Lake Tahoe in the winter to snow ski. But the time we went together in the summer, we made a deal. She promised if I went shopping everywhere she wanted to go, that she would do the fun thing I wanted to do. So we went horseback riding at the Squaw Valley Stables at the Olympic Village together.1 -
