Any success stories eating 1200 calories with NO EXERCISE?

Just wanna know if someone lost any weight by eating only 1200 calories and not doing any exercise ? Comment it below

I lost nearly 12kg by just reducing my calorie intake. I ate at 1400 (1200 is the minimum and won't apply to the majority of humans - the goal is to eat as much as you can and still lose weight) and didn't do any extra exercise than I already did.
Weightloss, no matter how you do it, comes down to; Calories in vs Calories out.
Whatever side is bigger will determine what will happen. More calories in = weightgain. More calories out = weightloss. It's up to you how you want to control the balance. A lot of people find it easier to reduce their calories in (eat less) than to exercise more.
However, exercise is really important for health and just because you can lose weight without it, doesn't mean it's a good idea. There are a lot of benefits from just introducing a little bit extra.8 -
simply yes. When i restarted mfp in jan i was set a 1260 limit as i did no exercise at all, and for the first 3 weeks i lost consistently.. but since then i have started gymming it 5 days a week , so i dont lose muscle as well as fat or water and it has carried on.
That said, I now eat back a few cals that I earn, and vary between 1260 and 1600 during the week. Although its working great for me, people seem to be horrified that someone would be put on such a low level, both by mfp and my trainer, but frankly when i counted calories as a teenager I was managing on 500, so 1200+ is allowing over and above all the nutrients, fibre etc that I have ever had on a cal diet.
I was most successful on a low carb until i got ill and needed meds etc, but as this is working I shall stick with it at this level9 -
I'm on a low carb 1200 calorie diet. I have been doing it for a month so far and dropped one dress size. Still have a long way to go though.3

i am trying exactly this trying my very best to keep my calorie intake below 1200, sometimes i do go off but get back on it again.i have lost about 7lbs so far, but have got a very long way to go- my target being a loss of 3 st. i find it very hard to stay motivated. i am a yoyo dieter i loose weight then put back on what i have lost and some extra lbs!!!! can be very frustrating!!2

You shouldn't go under 1200, if you stick with 1200 exactly you'll lose. I just took a break from working out and dropped 3lbs in a week that way.1 -
I was set at 1200 cals last winter/early spring. Lost weight for sure, but was exercising, but I am 4'10. I would never recommend 1200 to anyone. As someone who already gets a lower cal allotment due to smaller size, it was terrible and I was meticulous about getting the right nutrients. And ratios. I still looked tired and worn out. And was irritable all the time. I know that isn't what happens to everyone, but those snickers commercials are funny cuz they are for real!7

I've been losing weight mostly by calorie counting along with some walking and the rare trip to the gym for a class or a swim, but the 1200 limit is starting to leave me grouchy and irritable most of the time because I'm either truly hungry or needing to eat very frequently and that usually means things that are quick and easy but full of sodium. I'm thinking of upping my calories and adding more exercise so I don't feel so tired and grumpy all the time.5

I have. Am down 20 lbs so far since the start of the year. Trying to add in exercise but really I am pretty busy and a tad lazy. I work at a desk so 1200 calories are enough to satisfy me. Sometimes I go over (eat out greasy fish and chips) but I have generally lost at least a minimum of 0.5 lbs per week. By aiming low I do have the wiggle room to go over. I try to avoid a lot of junk food to make sure I am eating well. If you don't want to be very careful with your eating it is much simpler to just take a higher calorie allotment and lose your weight a bit slower. You have to do something that you find sustainable or you'll never be able to keep the weight off long term. Make sure you are enjoying your life while doing this11

Me. I'm a little over 5' and for most of a year was getting about 1000-2000 steps / day due to an injury. (I think 2000 is considered "sedentary.")
It is not a problem for me at all: I'm not hungry, miserable, etc. I'm little, and after a year of this it's just the way I eat. I am certain I am logging accurately by weighing and measuring everything. I am now one of those "just not a big eater" people. My body / life has completely transformed.
I started in the 230s and was 120.2 this morning. I am not sure how much more to lose, but my next goal is 115. But, I can imagine that 105 could be where I end up. I just started being able to lift weights (upper body only as my legs continue to heal), but I don't feel I burn many calories doing this -- my entire routine takes 20 minutes if that, and I do it 3xs / wk (w/ this being wk 3).13 -
I did lose about 40lbs with just sticking to 1200 calories, but I hit a plateau so I started walking twice a day and that's when the weight loss kinda jump started up again. I continued to walk twice a day (on my work breaks - I'm an office worker so I sit all day) and stayed at 1200 but then added 30 mins at the gym 3-5x per week. It was then I was able to increase my calories per day and started losing even more.8

Hello I have been watching my calorie intake 1260 a day and no working out. I was at 278 I and now 259 in about 3 months. I work long hours at a desk Monday through Saturday. So hard to get the time to work out I want to but hard for me to start. I get off work at 7 PM so it would have to be at that time. My husband can get my son together at night for bed. I think even more weight would come off. I for got I am 5'7 hope to get down under 200 pounds.1

The vast majority of women can eat more than 1200 calories do no exercise & lose weight. So it goes without saying.......yes you would lose weight at the lowest default minimum MFP gives BEFORE exercise. Petite and elderly women may need to go as low as 1200.
Google your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure).....this is your maintenance. Eating less than maintenance results in weight loss.
Example: A 5'5" woman, 21 years old, 150 pounds and sedentary burns around 1809 calories a day. So eating 1309 calories results in a 1 pound a week weight loss. Because she's not terribly over weight a 1 pound goal is not too aggressive. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/
Aggressive weight loss makes it harder for your body to support existing lean muscle mass. Strength training & adequate protein will also help minimize lean muscle loss.1 -
Yes , im 5-3 and wanted to lose 2 lbs per week it said the lowest i can go is 1200 calories a day with my normal daily movement around the house and kids as exercise... i lost 4-5 pounds a month that way ( roughly a pound a week)... im 30 years old... as long as calories in is less than calories out you'll eventually lose weight ( even with NO exercise) GOOD LUCK !!!!3

The majority of my weight loss was based around 1200 - 1350 without exercise. I'd go on walks here and there but nothing too intense. However I definitely could have lost eating a lot more cals, low cal was just a quick fix really. It's definitely possible to lose weight eating more than 1200 with no exercise for most people.1

I lost 96 lbs from eating 1200 calories a day and not exercising. I'm a 5'10 female.
Granted I gained half of it back lately but we don't talk about that
In my opinion people eat and think we need to eat way more than we should.
If you want to do 1200 calories a day go for it. If you feel unwell and hungry or dizzy etc. then eat more, simple as that. I never had any signs like that and I was fine. Ultimately it's up to you and what you feel is right - just listen to any signs your body sends you.4 -
Depending on your height anyone can lose weight on 1200... keeping it off is another story. If you are tired of the diet yo-yo the only thing that works is slightly under your maintenance over time, a balanced diet, consistency. Not very exciting I know, but there are no short cuts. Amount of food controls body fat. Exercise is for health and building a lean body mass.
So if your question really is can you lose body fat with nutrition alone and a calorie deficit and no exercise - absolutely yes. It is not as pretty or healthy, but yes.2 -
I actually have lost 18 lbs since mid January on a 1200 calorie a day doing no exercise. I do walk a lot - at least 10,000 steps a day, but I was doing that before. What I think is making it work is that I have drastically cut salt and sugar.6

Yes, it's possible, but it is slower. I am losing an average of 1/2 pound per week without exercise----unhappily without exercise. I used to play tennis three times a week, plus hiking and walking with the woof. I am now looking at a potential hip replacement----which has curtailed my activity greatly and blown my chances of hiking the Grand Canyon for the foreseeable future. But, my cholesterol is now normal, so I'm taking whatever good news I can.6

I'm trying to stick to 1200 calories. I had a torn meniscus, had the surgery last week, which limited my walking and almost every other activity. I dropped 20.5 lbs. since I started just after New Years. I have occasionally gone way over, when booze is flowing, but for the most part I've been good. I started at 216 now 195.5 and I'm 5'3".
I'm planning on adding exercise now, or as soon as I get doctor clearance.2 -
Yes I lost 37 lbs in 6 months. However I'm going to start incorporating exercise because I also want to tone.2

I have as I had my days where I hate to work out. It's just calories in calories out. I'm also 5'7" and we all have different genes.
However, I didn't like the way I looked without the exercise. Skinny-fat. My body looks better with fitness mixed in and weights as I gain both muscle and fat, fast and tight looks better on me.
I bumped it up to a happy 1400ish and lost more and my body won't look nearly as bumpy.3 -

I started on 1200 Cal's a day and stuck rigidly to those Cal's but still had treats and a couple of glasses of wine at weekends and went from 11st in Jan 2016 down to 9st 5lbs by the beginning of July 2016. My lowest was just under 9st but I didn't feel comfortable with how I looked at that weight. When I have been on holiday or gone off the rails for a bit I just do fitness pal again and the weight drops off. The only exercise I do is walking although I should do more.i have tried many diets but fitness pal has definitely been good for me.1

I am late to this party but: I work 2 jobs and have so little time. So since January I have been doing 1200 without exercise. When I can workout I bump up on those days. I cannot believe how slow going it is. Clearly I was eating way too much and had no problem gaining Prior to 3 years ago I was always underweight until medication. People have mentioned that I lost weight but due to working out the first few months the scale has barely moved. I am now afraid to weigh myself. I have noticed my butt is smaller and my face is a little thinner. But not enough to write home about.2
