Did you track? If you went over maintenance then sure, you might gain.1

Most likely... or maybe not. Time will tell.0 -
You will find out soon.0

In 4 days, probably not much of a gain. Main question, did you enjoy yourself? If so, no biggie, just get back to normal.7

I did but but not all0 -
Did you go to Levain bakery and eat their cookies? If not, you have to go back and do your trip again.1

But not Levain. *sigh*
I'm from Australia and would fly to ny just for their cookies...3 -
I always think the only real answer to these threads is "I don't know - will you?" only the OP was there, only she knows how much she ate and how much she walked, how on earth will we have a better idea if she will gain than she does?
ETA: I generally take a bit of a gain as a well worth it payment for a good trip and delicious food. So it takes me an extra week to get to goal - life's there to be lived!7 -

I don't track when I go away. But I also accept whatever consequences come from that and it's the only time I don't track. As soon as I get back I start tracking again and do damage assessment after a week. But this is not stressful to me. If I thought taking a break or seeing a gain would make me throw a wobbly then I'd do my best to track. But it doesn't, so I just enjoy my holiday.8 -
Probably a lot of water retention from the sodium, I'd wait 5 days before weighing3
-
U could have gone over your calories everyday and not gained any weight or you could have been under your calories and had a lot of sodium and gained weight cause you retained water. 4 days of over eating won't put on enough fat to be measurable1

Were you on vacation? If so, who cares whether you put on a smidgen of weight? The point is to relax and have a blast. If you did that, mission accomplished. MFP will still be there when you're done.
I'm going to Japan in May. At that point my logging streak will end, and I won't care about my intake for a couple of weeks. Not only will I be in maintenance then -- I allow myself to eat maintenance on weekends now, if I feel like it -- and not only will I not even be able to spell most of what I'll be eating let alone log it, but I'll be there to have fun and to see and do interesting things. If I need to lose weight again afterward, I can do that at home.8 -

Maybe you will gain, maybe you won't. What's done is done. It was a brief period in time; you've had these kind of events in the past and I hope you have similar periods of joy in the future. But they are small in the larger context. Get back to lighter eating habits and go forward from there.2

NY food? Probably worth a small gain. I've yet to experience NY cuisine. You can lose it.1

Then please stop being negative. Have a nice day. You dont need to comment.14 -

Life happens. Ten years from now, you will look back at your trip to NY and smile. You will have enjoyed yourself and made good memories. We have the best pizza, the best Chinese, the best bagels. You must come back and try a cupcake from Magnolia. Or Junior's cheesecake.
The little bit of weight you may have gained after four days is so worth it. Just get back to your good habits, and any slight gain will soon be gone.8 -
Fuggedaboutit! It's NY! Hope you got to eat at Katz Deli, Chinatown, Little Italy, Gray's Papaya, Mamouns Falafel, ok.... I have to stop now. You'll lose it. Hope you had a great time, and enjoyed the snow we got!7

I don't track on vacation either. I have lost weight on all three of my last trips (once the water retention from flying was off). I assume that the extra walking makes the difference. OP, rip off the bandage and jump on the scale. It's all speculation until you do.2 -

Did you log your food and stay within your calorie deficit, or at least make sure that you stayed within maintenance calories?
Food type does not matter when it comes to weight management.
I hope you had a blast in NY.0 -
Probably but who cares? We have some pretty good food here. Queens, NY next time for some awesome ethnic cuisine.2
