Amazon on the link above £18.99 free delivery - £1.58 per bar - still expensive but cheaper than £2.50 each in shops0 -

Has anyone tried the Grenade Carb Killa White Chocolate Mocha bars on Amazon?
I love anything with coffee in it, but don't like white chocolate as I find it too sweet.

I bought it first when I was over in the UK. It's not the cheapest one you can get but it's one of the best ones. I just walked into the next supplement store and there it was and man was I glad cause I didn't know any of the other brands but that one is used by some of the best athletes I know.
In terms of quality, it fails in comparison to MYProtein (a UK based company). At least according to the independent analysis done by www.labdoor.com1 -
There's so many to choose from. I just want something that's the most pure and with the least amount of additives and fillers.0
-
MyProtein is good value but contains alot of fillers, which is why its cheap, it also doesnt mix very well, so if you stack supplements all in the same shake, it gets lumpy.
By fa the best protein powder ive used, is MusclePharm Combat, great flavour, mixes well, contains 5 different types of protein isolate for different effects, also contains BCAA's and glutamine, all in one hit.
Where are the fillers?
Impact whey protein... £34 for 2.5kg (currently £27)
83g of protein per 100g
Banana Flavour: Whey Protein Concentrate (Milk) (96%), Flavouring, Colour (Curcumin), Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin), Sweetener (Sucralose)
Musclepharm combat £40 for 1.8kg
74.63g of protein per 100g
Micro Filtered Whey Protein Blend (Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Hydroslate), Micellar Casein, Egg Albumen, L-Glutamine, L-Leucine, L-Valine, L-Isoleucine;
L-Alanine, Lysine, L-Arginine, Glycine, Histidine, Tyrosine, Cystine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Proline, Serine, Aspartic Acid, Threonine, Tryptophan, Digestive Enzyme Blend
It should all be noted that any whey protein will contain isoleucine, leucine and valine and the other 7 essential amino acids, as it's protein. So advertising BCAA in your whey protein is really added BCAA that's not required in a protein rich diet.0 -

IMPACT WHEY ISOLATE
Unflavoured: Whey Protein Isolate (Milk) (100%), Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin)
This seems to be the purest one offered. Thinking to go with that.
How can you use this? Do you just mix it with cold milk?0 -

@cityruss - 'Colour (Curcumin), Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin), Sweetener (Sucralose)'
right there! All chemicals that the body doesnmt digest well and as a result lessens the absorbption of protein.
anyway its all down to personal preference, ive tried just about most protein powders and brands there are, ive even stopped using brands that sponsored me, that i got for free because i wasnt impressed with the quality.
Everyones harping on about MyProtein, but why do you think its half the price of every other brand? compromise on quality ingredients.
MyProtein felt dry, powdery, lumpy and bloaty, in my opinion.
If you dont wanna pay for quality and want cheaper substitutes, then at least try protein works.
1. if your body can't absorb then, it would just pass through you. But it's false and I doubt you would find support for that claim.
2. The reason why MyProtein is cheap in the UK is because that is where it's made, unlike most other brands which are US based, produced in China.
3. Price =/= quality; there are plenty of crap that is expensive products based on their company names (i.e., most weight gainers)
4. The website I provide does independent analysis on protein powders, I'd recommend checking it out.
5. How are you determine quality?0 -

Uh oh...
Musclepharm combat...
Other Ingredients Inulin, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Sodium Chloride, Acesulfame K, Sucralose, Soy Lecithin, Potassium Citrate.
So how are these "chemicals" (everything is a chemical by the way) not digested by the body lessening protein absorbtion?

I have a pack of 12, currently unopened. I'll try one tonight and let you know, but the other white chocolate one (can't remember name) is pretty sweet.0 -
Bulk Powder does good and cheap. I used to buy from MyProtein but switched to Bulk Powder.0

I really like The Protein Works whey powders, good service, taste, mix well - but wait for the discounts (which almost come up daily in one form or another).
The range flavoured with Stevia is my choice as I don't like the taste of Sucralose.
Their peanut butter is good too (100% peanuts).
But avoid their protein flapjacks - unless you enjoy farting on a truly epic scale!

Yeah but MyProtein fails as it has more artificial sweeteners than NutriWhey and 100%Whey. I mostly use NotriForce products as they're the cleanest products I've encountered but 100%Whey taste goods and the list of ingredients I stay clear of is far shorter then other similar products.
Fails what?
What is wrong with artificial sweeteners?0 -

Yes.
But, I don't believe any benefits (and negatives) of choosing an isolate over a concentrate are worth the increased cost.
Why not just get a standard whey concentrate from any of the UK based suppliers listed in this thread and see how you get on.
TheProteinWorks have 25% off at the moment with the code "unleash" which would mean 4kg of whey concentrate 80 for £38.990 -
^I tend to agree, with the exception of those who have issues processing milk, then an isolate would be better. Plus, concentrates mix easier.0
-
^^ Yep i have to stick with Isolate or Casein, because whey concentrate bloats me and produces horrific gas0

discount supplements seems to be a good site0

Not too sweet but only a subtle coffee flavour. My rating 7/10.0
