Stomach skin

I am not sure if this would be the best place for this post but I will give it a try.

I have a tiny bit of loose tummy skin, no sagging, just not tight around the middle area, especially around my belly button. I've had two children 7 and 9 years ago. I've never had a flat tummy, even before kids....until now! It is flat and defined due to months of hard work. I'd like to make my skin tighter without surgery...honestly, I don't even think I would be a candidate for tummy tuck. I had a belly button ring before kids and it is especially droopy in that area.

Has anyone had any luck with creams or potions? LOL

I thought it would go away the more I work out and eat right but it is not. And maybe it is just something I have to live with. But I figured I'd ask around.

    Skin can take a couple years to fully adjust after weight loss.

    I have the same exact issue. If I'm standing up straight, you can't tell I have excess stomach skin, but if I do a plank, there is skin on each side of my belly button that droops down. :s

    I've been in maintenance for a full year now, and it has improved, but hasn't gone away yet...

    I guess a career doing exercise videos in a sports bra and booty shorts is not in my future. Lol! :wink:

    Creams and lotions and topical and only temporarily "tighten" the skin. It's not permanent since it doesn't affect the dermis. As mentioned let time go a little longer and consult a surgeon later if it doesn't improve. Believe it or not, surgeons want you in your best shape that you can be in then possibly go in for minor(not a lot of removal) surgery.

    I don't know how old you are. I only know that my stomach snapped back into place after my first child,when I was 21. Twenty years later I had 2 more kids and the skin never went back to how it was. Losing weight wouldn't help - I was always on the thin side and in fact I've been trying to gain weight and my stomach actually looks better. If you're young it may go eventually but you may just have to make friends with it :D

    I am 33. I snapped back quickly after my two kids in my early twenties, but like I said, never had a flat stomach or was as fit as I am now. I will keep working at it. It is not the worst thing in the world so I can live with it! LOL

    To be honest - I know it's beside the point but to me you look fine. If you like I'll post a pic of mine - I promise it'll make you feel better,lol.

    I have the same wrinkled loose skin around the belly button from having two kids. It's upsetting to me as my stomach is flat and I can even see a hint of some abs, but the skin ruins it. It's never got any better, in fact the less I weigh, the worse it is and my youngest is 9 years old, so it's never going to get better either. It's just something I've accepted I have to live with.
    Edit to add mine looks way worse than yours too!

    @shortnurse1 the 2nd photo was edited out because you are in underwear. Against the MFP guidelines :)

    You look pretty good in that after pic.
    Lotions and potions won't help, time may.

    Lotions won't help, they're nothing but a very short term solution, if they work at all. Aside from where your piercing was, I don't ont see any issue with pic #2, you look great! If your belly button bothers you, consult a surgeon. It might be a small fix :)

    Shortnurse1 your stomach looks amazing. I have the same issue- had belly piered when I was 15 had 2 kids in 20s and now have lose skin where my belly button ring was- yours has tightened beautifully, as is a real inspiration to me!! If u had surgery it would be tiny I think, but personally, I don't think u need it- ur stomach looks amazing! Can I ask how long between pic 1 and 2? And what regime u put in place? My core is so weak after kids and get back pains at times, so I need to strengthen my middle desperately.

    First of all...thank you! I know it could be worse but it does bother me some. The first picture was a year ago. I have done my own thing, no programs or anything. First I cut out soda, fast food (didn't eat much of that to begin with) and coffee. I drink about a TON of water and I add the green thunder MIO in the morning for caffeine to replace coffee. I made a huge change in my diet just eating healthy and really trying hard not to eat anything out of a box...cheese-its etc. I was hard core with no bad food at first, now if I want a cookie, I eat a cookie...but just one LOL! I started exercise with a class like Zumba 3 days a week then after three months moved it to the gym. I go 4-5 days a week and run 1-3 miles every time and lift weights, do leg and ab exclercises alternating days. I just really put my mind to it and stuck with it this time!
