How can foods be in but not be in the MFP database?

This week alone I've been unable to find calorific values for two Slimming World dishes, scotch eggs and spaghetti carbonara on MFP, but when I Googled "How many calories in Sliming World..." the top answer for both was MFP!
However, even when I copy and/or cut and paste the meal description onto the MFP search nothing shows up for it? Anyone any idea what or why that happens? Thanks

If all else fails and I know the aproximates for something I use quick calorie entry in my diary just as a marker for what I ate.0

Schrodinger's food? Odd, I've never encountered that but since you have the nutritional info why not create your own entry?2

I have seen what you are describing. Somehow the application and the search engines are hitting different database schemas.0

I assume that they have been removed from DB since google last performed a scan of MFP?1

I've tried to log foods in the past, and couldn't find them, but when I try to make a new food for them... it shows up in the list of possible duplicates. It's ridiculous. The database is just messed up.2

is it because they are dishes someone created but maybe didn't share to the database?0

This. Google has massive storage space and their servers index and store public internet databases on an ongoing basis. Just because it comes up in a Google search does not mean that the same information is currently available.0 -

Yep. I usually go ahead and add them again anyway as chances are the sodium would be wrong or the previous entry might not have had all the macros included - at least then I know it's right and it's in my frequent list to use again.
OP, if you're making these SW dishes from scratch you're better off using the recipe builder.0 -
