I cut out Pepsi and now have the same problem - a can can take me ages to drink. During summer I don't have a problem drinking water but now that the weather is cooler I find the last thing I want to drink is water - I do drink at least 3-4 cups of green tea a day and that can count towards the water, so problem solved (for me at least) :drinker:0

I don't drink any water at all. I don't like it! I drink 3 cups of coffee or tea in the mornings and a can of diet coke at lunch but that's it. I don't drink water ever.0

It's probably ecause you're eating more fresh fruit and vegetables ~ which are full of water. I was exactly the same. Before I started eating more healthily, I always thought that '8 glasses of water' was a minimum! I drank looooots!! Now I struggle to drink that much!
Just drunk as much as you can. Your skin and head will soon let you know if you're dehydrated. x0 -
I have little headaches i was wondering if it was from lack of water?0

PS Pepsi, Coke (diet or otherwise), coffee and tea are diuretics ~ they cause your body to lose water (it's the caffeine). So you actually need to drink more of them to allow your body to rehydrate. Clever little side efect for the drinks manufacturers! Best thing you can drink is green or herbal tea ~ or water (with added flavourings or 'squash' if it's more palatable). I'm sure there are other things too. Not that I claim to be an expert ~ and I certainly don't deny myself a diet Coke when I fancy one! :happy:0

Possibly girl27 ~ one of the most common symptoms of mild dehydraion are headaches. Try and up your fluid level for a few days and see if that helps. If not, at least you've eliminated it as a reason!0

Have you tried drinking hot water with lemon? Just boil the kettle and add a chunky slice of lemon to your mug - it's great if the weather is cooler and is a good metabolism stimulator and detoxes your insides!
It's my favourite over cold water, I tend to just drink that at the gym or if I'm really thirsty.

There is no scientific proof or evidence to say that you have to consume 8 glasses of water a day to be healthy. Any liquids with the exception of alcohol will contribute towards your water intake for the day, as will fruit and vegetables. Eating fruit and vegetables help with better hydration than just water alone as they contain important vitamins and minerals that the body needs. You can try teas, herbal and fruit infusions, milk, diet drinks, fruit juices etc and eat plenty of fresh fruit and veg. You will know if you are dehydrated you’re body will tell you. A good indicator is you urine it should be a light straw colour, and you should be going to the toilet regularly, if your urine is dark yellow or dark brown in colour and you are going to the toilet less than normal you know you’re not drinking enough.
Hope that helps! Good luck.0 -
I don't like the taste of tap water here and it is really hard for me to drink a lot of just water so I buy lemons and I make sugar free lemonade. It is not expensive and it is really refreshing if you don't over do it with lemon.
I don't drink Coke regular or diet, I don't drink store bought "fresh" juice because they add sugar and artificial sweeteners, coloring and similar and I know I will not stop on just one glass of it per day.0 -
Thanks everyone my boss drinks lemon slices and water by the bucket load so will try some of that at work!0
