Genetics. I lost 80 lbs and went down from 38 DDD to 34 DD (actually had to upgrade from 34 D to 34 DD in the last couple months for some reason) and they don't sag or anything. At least I'm lucky about that! My genetics are big boobs/big hips, so yeah...0

I definitely don't recall losing anything the first time I lost weight (but it was only around 40lb, whereas this time, I'm trying for 70). My size has remained steadfastly at a 36-38C. The only time that was different was shortly after my son was born (went from a C to a DD and that suuuuuuuuuucked). I lost the weight after he was born, but my breasts just shrank nicely back down to their original size (and thankfully for me, retained their shape from before).
The only downside is that currently, my hips are 10 inches wider than my breast band size (38-36-48) so I feel that currently in the process of losing, I look rather ridiculous.
But here's hoping I get to keep my boobs when I finally reach that goal weight.

OP, today is your first day, right? (based on other threads you've started) Don't concern yourself with this stuff- just focus on what you need to do. I don't recall you mentioning in any of your threads if you've actually set up your MFP profile with your stats and entered a reasonable weekly weight loss goal (likely not 2 lbs/week unless you are obese). Make sure you've done that and then just eat the calories MFP gives you. Let the future take care of itself! (And BTW, since you are very young, and depending on how much you are overweight and for how long, the whole boob thing may well be a non-issue).1

As many other people said, it comes down to genetics... But you are pretty young still--you'll probably just have to take your chances with weight loss and see where you end up.
When I was in my 20s I was very thin (a teeny bit anorexic) and still large-breasted. It wasn't until I was in my 40s--after having a baby, breastfeeding, gaining weight, and then eventually losing the weight that I lost any significant cup size.0 -
I used to be skinny and flat chested pear shape. Now I have fat all over including breasts, and a still bigger bottom half. I can't wait to get this excess weight off of my chest and go back to my skinnier pear shape. Your figure will remain the same, only it will be smaller.1

To elaborate on my first post. I started at 36E, am now around a 34DD/E and on the borderline of going down another back size to 32E. I'm an hourglass though, so while I would really love smaller boobs, they balance out my mega hips and butt. Currently 37-27-40. Shopping for anything fitted is a nightmare!
I'm the USA we have to import all larger cup bras from Europe. In the retailers they don't even carry DD unless you have a 38"band or larger, and you can't get larger than DDD in any band. It drives the cost up a lot to import bras.
I started with a 40 J at 275 lbs/5'9“
I'm currently a 34 DD at 160 lbs
36"-28"-38" in a well-fitting bra. Panache and Berlei work well for me.1 -

Yes! The UK has better sizing and better accessibility. I'm not sure what the Freya brand retails for there, but you will spend upwards of $150 Canadian Dollars to get one here. If you know your size and enjoy taking risks, you can order seconds from ebay/amazon in your size and hope they fit for around $40. I've done this a fair number of times, as I usually only have 1-2 bras that fit at a time (at $150 each...). I wear a 32GG right now.
I've considered a reduction, but like you... I'm relatively balanced. Although now that the world is coocoo for cocopuffs about big butts, maybe reducing the girls so my butt looks bigger is the right move!
As for the op - I've always hovered around a 30E/32F until I had kids. Then I lived with a 34I while nursing... and when I was at my thinnest... a 30E (after kids). So I feel like you will get what you get, and the advice of "if you had them before" is fairly apt. Do be advised, though... that often massive weight loss can lead to Tennis Ball in a Tube Sock Syndrome (Tennis ball... Jelly... it's all the same). And there's nothing that fixes that except surgery.
But hey! My tits look great in a bra!

And none of them are outrageously priced, although of course if you want to buy more expensive underwear go for it but it's not something necessary to get a larger size. I'm sat for my cross Atlantic big boobed people now!2 -
I wish I had somehow kept mine! I was already small when I started to lose weight - 36C and then I'm at a 34B and hope that I don't lose anymore!0

My favorite cheap-ish brand does not sell my band size anymore so I have been on the hunt for something that fits for over a year to no avail - I can't return the items after all even if they don't fit. That's why the price adds up between the bras themselves, the shipping and the hit and miss sizing.
I have never been a normal weight as an adult so I'm not sure what my size will be once I hit a normal weight, but I'm hoping for something I can buy locally, that is no bigger than DDD.2 -

Yes, it's a hassle. Big ladies here pretty much only have 3 options: wear an ill fitting bra (before the internet I used to wear a DDD with a larger band to compensate when my real size is GG-J), buy from imported second-hand shops and that's a hit and miss because you can't just walk in and ask for your size, or order from the internet.0 -

agree with genetics and density of breast tissue. i had a reduction from a 36F down to a 36D when i lost weight years ago and threw in a lift, then i gained weight and my boobs grew back. i figured that it was mostly fat at this point and that they would reduce with the rest of me, but so far not by much. i had my first mammogram and they said that my breast tissue is so dense i need ultrasounds instead so it looks like my tissue / fat ratio is gonna keep me on the big titty committee forever.0

I get ultra annoyed because some of the plus sized shops carry the bigger cup sizes... but with bigger band sizes. Even when I was smaller (DD/E) it was a struggle because so many of the retailers carried a DD only with the band size if 34+. I have a narrow rib cage... yeah. Bras suck, and that's why I don't wear them unless I am going to work or important functions.0 -
Just a tip, if you have a bra you like, search for it by brand + size on eBay. Lots of brand new bras there ("NWT" = new with tags) and sometimes cheaper than the store. I even scored some in actual COLORS OTHER THAN BEIGE, which was amazing. Gosh! Pretty colors for people with big boobs! Truly a miracle.1

It's all about genetics. I'm busty no matter my weight. The last time I lost weight, I went down in band size but actually went up in cup size a bit because they stayed the same.
I wish I could lose my butt, but dang my broad hipbones! Plus, I always lose the weight there last.1 -

I start all my shopping on ebay, especially when I know a specific brand, size fits well for a particular family member. We also sell on ebay, so if something doesn't work, I can turn around & resell it. I figure that's how most new items end up there- people buy stuff that doesn't work for them & they don't want to pay to return it.0 -
I've lost over 40lbs and boobs gained a cup size, (from 44DD to a 38DDD) so there is hope! But like everyone else said, it's genetics unfortunately. I did go down 3 band sizes though, which is a good thing. What I've always heard from my GP is that it depends on the glandular versus fatty tissue in your boobs. More glandular means you lose less boob when you lose weight, more fatty tissue means they will deflate, get smaller and sometimes not be as perky.
I will say, as you lose weight, make sure you are getting professionally fitted for bra sizing! Most small lingerie shops will do it for free (Victoria's Secret will do it, but they don't always measure the way it should be, our store here goes over your clothes which is not accurate at all) . You can also learn to do it yourself, but a good bra can make any size boobs feel the way you want them to, whether that is bigger, smaller, compressed or almost like not wearing a bra.0 -

Mine stayed the same cup size. (I lost 100 pounds) So while they are smaller, they don't really look smaller because they stayed at the same proportion to the rest of my body that they were before weight loss.0

Yeah it is the same for me. I was just wondering cause a couple of years ago I went on a diet and really went at it and lost 45 pounds. My beasts still stayed pretty much the same though. I've been buying UK bras for years because of this. I can get them in a department store here, but even buying them direct from Figleaves, they're still expensive.
Freya fits me well. I wear a 30FF (UK) 30H (US).0 -
I started life a B, went up to a D thanks to breastfeeding, and shrunk to a C after weaning. I have a feeling mine are gonna look like someone popped a balloon in my bra by the time I'm done losing0

I wish. I think I hear my husband crying with every pound lost. After 4 bfing babies, they were a bit shrunken and deflated, but I've gone from a C when we met to a B to...maybe an A. If they made adult bras in 34 AA, that would be better. Alas the 32s are a bit snug for me and I'm too tall for the juniors/kiddie bras in a 34.0
