Does my Fitbit seem accurate?

I'm 5'3, 255 pounds. I work a desk job, 10-12 hour shifts 4 days a week. I have a Fitbit HR. I go to the gym in the morning which is where I usually get most of my steps in. I range between 5k-7k steps a day (I know it's not much). According to my fitbit synced with MFP I'm burning 700-1000 calories a day. I know the heavier you are, the more calories you burn. Just wondering if anyone in the similar hight and weight range has had the around the same calorie burn or if my Fitbit is overestimating?

The Fitbit is most likely accurate. When you say 700-1000, is that the range of the daily Fitbit Calorie Adjustment that is added to your daily goal? If so, it will depend on what MFP Activity Level you are set at: Not Very Active, Lightly Active, Active, or Very Active? Which one?

Yes, I have it set at not very active. Other than the gym, I'm usually sitting at my desk working most of the day.

I am also set at Sedentary (Not Very Active), but I am at maintenance at 149 lbs. When I occasionally have a 7K step day, I get an additional 680 Calories for the Fitbit Calorie Adjustment. So at your weight and taking into account you are set to lose weight, your adjustment sounds about right.

Edited to add: So taking my maintenance of 1830 Calories, plus 680 Calories in adjustment, I ate 2510 Calories to maintain at 149 lbs.
