Hi,
I'm 45, female, 5'2"and used to weigh 72.8kgs (160.4 lbs). I started counting calories and macros, I did great for the first two weeks when I lost 1.2 kg a week. I also follow an app called 8 fit which I find absolutely great for quick yet hard hitting workouts, five times a week. After that I bounced back around 1kg.Was it because I got my period or I partied and had two rum and cokes? That was about a week and half back and inspite of pulling back drastically, I'm stuck!!! Today I saw a measly 300gm drop again. My plan was to lose one kg a week (2.2 lb), but by the looks of it I'm going to be stuck with a loss of just 1.5kgs. What threw me off so badly? I'm maintaining the macro ratio at 45 %carbs, 30%fats and 25% protein and my calorie intake is at 1200. Am I eating too less considering my workouts do cause a deficit of around 200 cals. Please help me understand this.
Thank you.
Regards,
Ashima

Are you weighing everything to make sure it's 1200 calories? Are you eating exercise calories back? TOM and exercise can make your body retain water.

2.2 pounds a week may be too aggressive for your weight and height. I'm 5'3, 170 pounds and lose about 1 pounds a week.

I actually drank this past weekend as well and I needed extra water so make sure your hydratered.

Continue staying in your calories and weighing everything and you'll see it go down again.

    Hi Ashima!

You are doing great! Keep at it, you will not lose every week.

    Dear RubyLou,
What is TOM? No, I'm not replenishing calories lost whilst working out. I guess I could live with the lesser amount of weight loss so long as it only goes down :)

time of the month, aka the visit from Aunt Flo :)

MFP is developed with the idea of eating back exercise calories

are you weighing and measuring EVERYTHING?

Weight loss isn't linear and you can't count on it to always go down. You need to look at your general trend over time.

Here's a recent 3 month trend for me:

    LOL! got it!
Yes I'm weighing / measuring everything. I do suffer from hypothyroidism ( sorry forgot to mention) but it's totally under control. Anyway, I'm just going to keep at it and maybe stop weighing myself everyday.

I try to eat about 75% of mine. I've heard calorie burn counts aren't totally accurate and if they arent, it's a little extra wiggle room if I can't weigh food for such occasions as eating out

Consistency is key. Just keep at it and you'll do great.
