The eating challenge? Yuck! I hate being stuffed, and want to enjoy my calories little by little. Plus I think it's wasteful. But not my body, so I don't really care, lol.

I'd rather do 5k calories....10k sounds like pure misery

I think that would be impossible for me to do. I can't imagine how much food that might be, or if it was just calorie dense how awful I would feel.

I could do it. But there's no need to. I'm not in my 20's anymore so that would hard to work off after consumption.

I think it's kind of stupid...and there's no way I could do it...but I'm also pushing 43, so I'm not really down with this kind of stupid *kitten* anymore.

I've done 5K plus in a day easy on camping trips when I drink over a case of beer in a day and eat tons of crap. 10K would be tough though.

    wow
I was reading on Perez Hilton, I know highbrow, about people who choked recently during eating contests. Seems like this challenge is a death waiting to happen or at the very least heartburn of epic proportions

There are a lot of hungry people in the world and those eating very large amounts for a contest/fun in my opinion is kind of gross and shameful in light of that. It is not something I would participate in.

I get full at like 1,500 calories. I can't imagine stuffing my face with 10K and all I can think about is how extremely long it would take to work all of that off.

Yeah you have a point about food wastage in general but something like that as a one off event surely isn't all that bad relatively speaking? I personally wouldn't (probably couldn't given the amount noted) but don't begrudge others who would.
There's bigger fish to fry (like the fact that only one banker got prison time for the financial crash in 2008) a food eating contest is hardly that bad :)
