Run I dont think so

I used to hate running too but then I read a thread about the impending zombie apocalypse and how triathletes would be best suited to survive after such a horrid event. So it was then that I decided to take up swimming, cycling and running.
Why would triathletes be best suited to survive?
1. zombies can't swim (althought its been said they can walk cross along the bottom)
2. Eventually we would run out of gas, and the roads would be clogged with useless hunks of metal... best choice cycle.
3. When you are unable to ride away and have no other means of escape all you can do is run. Plus it helps if you're the fastest of the group, leaving the slower behind to be zombie bait.
I was totally going to say that. PJ beat me to it.
What he didn't say is that he plans to throw me to the zombies so he and his friends can get away. Then, I will become a zombie of immense power, their "queen" if you will, and humanity will be in even greater danger with me leading my army of the re-animated. That's what we will call ourselves. The Re-Animated. Anything else will be impolite and hurtful.0 -
If running were easy, then everyone would be doing it. It gets easier the more you do it, but honestly I do it for the challenge. I do it to improve myself and see how fast this fat guy can go. It's never easy. Even on a long, slow run, it's still a struggle to keep up my pace after mile 10. But I do it for the challenge...because it hurts so good!0

There's nothing wrong with walking. When I first started trying to be active all I used to do was walk on my lunches. About 30-45 minutes a day. Why? Because I was too lazy to wake up early to do it and didn't want to spend money on a gym membership.
I did this for about a month, everyday. At first it was hard but it got easier. Then I started walking to and from work AND at lunch a total of about 9 miles a day for a month or two at first this was hard, but like the lunch walk it also got easier. Little did I realize that all this walking was just building my base. It was all about taking it slow.

Now with that firm base in place I started the C25K program, best thing I EVER could have done for myself, besides joining MFP of course. I got fitted for a proper pair of running shoes and I was off and running(pun intended). Since then I've ran 2-5k's, Warrior Dash and a mini sprint triathlon. I've already got 4 other sprint tri's planned this year along with a half marathon in the late fall.
If I can run, anyone can.0
