Thinking about starting martial arts classes this month. However class is longer than 30 mins. 120 mins. I know not all of it will be full on as there will be stretching etc.. I'm just little bit worried it will mess up my weight training gains. It's only once a week

Why do you have to take one that's 120 minutes? There has to be other options than this.

Well if it's once a week, it shouldn't derail you.

I don't think a once a week 120 minute martial arts class would mess up your weight training gains at all. Take the class and just see how it is. You won't really know unless you just do it.

I could even reduce my runs to one a week and the class. It's something I'd like to do to build confidence

I take a karate class 2x a week for 45 minutes. There is a lot of stretching and instruction time. I'm not going all out for 45 minutes and I don't really count it as a workout. (As far as confidence building, it's been great. And I've gotten way more flexible. 2 years ago I couldn't touch my toes...Tuesday I realized I can touch my nose to my knee when I stretch.)

Now, I'm not sure how intense a 120 minute class would be, but I gotta believe that there will be some downtime.
