I'm usually at 3.1 mph.0

My average is around 3.5 mph.0
-
Mine's about a 20-21 min/mile0
-
3.5 normally. 3.0 is my "leisurely pace"0

It depends on where I'm walking, the time of year, and with whom.
For example:
No snow:
With my dog Micah, on a level, paved walking/biking path: 4.2 mph
With my dad's dog, Beowulf, on the same level, paved walking/biking path: 2.7 mph
With my dog Micah, on a hiking trail having moderate hilliness: 3.4 mph
With my dog Beowulf, on the same hiking trail: 2.7 mph (this is a thing with him.. I think it's his top speed)
With my dog Micah, on a hiking trail with steep hills: 3.0 mph
With my dog Beowulf, on the same hiking trail: 2.5 mph (yes, we have a SLIGHT slowdown)
Snow - complicates and slows things down. I lose about 1 mph for every 4 inches.
Mud - ugh, forget it, we are not going for speed, I just want to stay upright. Max speed 1.8 mph

Outside I go at 3.5 mph usually. On the treadmill, it depends on how sore my legs feel, but typically 3.2 or something and I crank up the incline. Hiking? Totally depends on the terrain. I did 7 miles in 3 hours last time but there were a lot of rocks, mud, snow, inclines (up is fine, down... not so much).
Really depends on how tall and how tall your legs are, obviously. I know people who brisk walk at 4.5mph... I'd be more comfortable running at that pace, lol.3 -
5 km/h for a brisk walk.0
-
3.5 mph when I'm walking for exercise. Something less when I'm just moving around.0
-
2.5 mph. I'm slow.3
-
Varies between 8.5 and 9.5 mins a km. I'd say it's roughly 4mph on average. I don't mess around when I'm walking for fitness, lol0
-
4 mph when alone. 3.5 or so if I have my dog with me.0
-
4 to 4.5 mph. I can't walk at any other speed. Then again, I'm from NYC so it's most likely ingrained in me at this point.3
-
I average at 18mins/ mile depending on who I'm with or where I am.0
-
3.5 to 4mph depending on elevations on path.0
-
I don't know. I only walk if I need to get somewhere. But I will say that I went running with this guy one time and since I don't run much I decided to walk for a while. I was surprised to find that my walking pace was keeping up with his running pace.1

My speed runs about 4.5 to 5 mph, usually closer to 4.5.0
-
Probably average 3.2 even though I walk a lot. I wish my pace was more of a 4.0, but I just don't have the stride for that, and I have officially moved on into the acceptance phase...0

Yesterday I went for a walk in the sunshine and put my garmin on. At a steady pace without rushing i was doing 16 minute miles.0
-
Usually I'm between 3-3.5mph.0
-
Depends on what I'm doing
Getting my daughter to college - 4 mph (she can't cope with any faster)
By myself - 5 mph
With the children (toddler in buggy) - 3 ~ 3.5 mph
With the children (toddler walking) - 2.5 ~ 3 mph.0 -
20 min mile with a personal best of a 17 min mile.

I would say 3.0-3.5 mph is the general walking speed for average people.0
-
Between 3 and 3.5mph walking for exercise. I have short legs and a rather short stride (hip issues)0
-
2.5 - 3.0 mph. I know, I'm slow as *kitten*.
However, most of the time when I'm walking, I've got my nose in a book, so that accounts for some of the slow pace.
However, I'm baffled by people who can walk at 4 or 5 mph.. that's jogging for me, lol.0 -

Ditto on that! I lived in NYC for 14 years and anything less than a 4.0 feels like a crawl. I also stand in the street while waiting to cross, jaywalk, and walk in the street when the sidewalks are too crowdedI miss a lot of things about NYC, but I don't miss the crowded streets.

I hear you. My legs are so short that walking at those speeds just won't happen as I have to take so many more steps than the average person to reach the same distance. Fortunately it means I am working out harder than the average person walking my speeds so it isn't all bed.1 -
snail pace ;-)
sorry couldnt resist :-)

Depends on the walk - 10k or less on flat(ish) terrain then will aim for 10 min per KM. Hill walking I don't measure due to walking with a group who all walk at different rates and need different breaks.0
-
If I'm making a point of hurrying along, about 3.5 mph. Otherwise about 3.0. But if I'm strolling it's more like 2.5. I got a sense of my pace by walking on a treadmill and noting how it felt.0

17.5 - 18 min mile on flat. About 3.7 mph on treadmill. Hills? All bets are off0
